Todd Gurley could be the mega impact player Cards need.

After thinking more about it, as much as I like Gurley, I think I'd pass on him in round 1. There are just too many good RB's in this draft to take one who is coming off a torn ACL. Tevin Robinson(doubtful) and Yeldon could be there in round 2 and be every bit as good as Gurley. If Gurley was 100% I'd take him at 24. Then again, if he was 100% healthy, he wouldn't be there at 24.

AP couldn't run behind this pathetic offensive line
They need to build the o line

The o line makes the running game not the RB

I've always felt that way too, but be careful with that logic. That's exactly what led to Levi Brown being chosen instead of Adrian Peterson when both were knocking on our door.

I think Yeldon would be the perfect compliment to The Duke. That could be our version of thunder and lightning.

I feel compelled to post for Duckjake, Cards should never ever take a RB in the 2nd rd. They will bust for us and why ruin a promising players chance of a good career.

Have to wait until the 3rd rd or later in a deep RB class.

I really like the idea -- but the RB class is super deep

Yeldon may be a third or fourth round pick -- its that deep

Thomas Jones?

Thomas Jones wasn't injured coming out of college. Garrison Hearst was. He had knee problems but Bugel took a flier out on him and it was the right pick. He was the only decent offensive player in 1995. If we keep him, we're much better and we might have gone further in the late 90's.

Well I!m all for BPA always. it's how we got DWash and Calias, that said some RB's may very well intersect, BPA and need in the 2nd.

Does someone have anyone to add to this INITIAL list?

This runningback class is too deep, and we don't run the ball enough for me to take a RB in round 1. Give me a front 7 defensive player or an offensive linemen.

Shaq Thompson
Vic Beasley
Eric Kendricks
Alvin Dupree
Dante Fowler
Eli Harold
Shilique Calhoun
Owam Odig
Danielle Hunter
Paul Dawson
Cameron Erving
La'el Collins
Ronnie Stanley
All would be good.

Totally agree, one of best rb class in the last several years. No need to take one in the first round.

I prefer Fowler, but they are close. What I hope is that the Cards look at trading up in round 2 to grab an ILB if the don't take one in round one.

My perfect draft is Fowler in round one and Kendricks in round 2.

I have to agree with ARZCardinals, and NJCardFan about beefing up the O-line. Our interior line is VERY weak right now. I still say that as serviceable a Center as Sendlein has been, he has been the weakest link in our interior O-line when we had two stout guards in with Faneca, and the Samoan kid from USC in the run game. Now that we have a VERY good starting LT and a solid RT, he would still be the weakest link in our interior line if we found a guard to replace Faniaka, and if Cooper came back strong like he was before he broke his leg. That is why I would like to see us get AQ Shipley from the Colts. He could replace Faniaca this year at LG, and might be able to win the Center spot from Sendlein next year when Sendlein becomes a FA.
