He takes months to do this and this is the best he can come up with? Rounds 2 and 3 are borderline ridiculous.

agreed...This is the same guy who said the Card's draft was the worst in the division last season...

That mock is really bad. I don't want Donald Brown if it means passing up a guy like Larry English, if English is still on the board.

agreed...Remember, this is the same guy who called the Cardinals draft last year, "the worst in the division..."

Ewwwwwww.

I'd be heartbroken if this happened.

about the only pick i like is Robinson from Alcorn St. I've never seen him play but have read some good things on him. But, i'm with everyone else and this draft would stink. I think McShay is in way over his head. He just goes to other sites and reads what they sya nd tries to make it his own. I hope when Schefter finally moves over to ESPN that they'll axe McShay. I think Kiper is a ton better than McShay.

Word.

Beanie
Moreno
Maualuga
English
Mack

That's my pick. With English probably my top choice.

This one makes the least sense

Lydon MurthaOTNebraska

Too much of a finesse blocker at this point. Powerful bull rushers give him trouble as well and can get driven back into the quarterback's lap. Best suited to play in a zone-blocking offense.

A receiver with speed issues is also questionable, even if he is picked in the 7th.

I used to like McShay, but his lack of knowledge of late round players has started to bother me. I know a lot of you don't like Mel either, but I think his knowledge of late round players is far great than Todd's at this point.

He doesn't know much about the 1st round either. In his mock he has Sanchez going to Seattle despite Matt Hasselbeck being 33, and with the current trend, has another 5-6 years of football left in him. He also has BJ Raji going to Cleveland even though Cleveland has an amazing NT.

' Lucious Pusey'...lol, does that name seem a little....odd? Maybe its just me, but that name sounds like it should be for a porn star, lol. Nevertheless, that's possibly the worst mock draft i've seen, seems like McShay is just picking random players and slotting them in. Clay Matthews or Larry English would be my 1st picks, then find a RB later on in the 2nd or 3rd round.

5 of the 8 on offense? I don't think so. Everyone knows that the defense is where most of our energy will go.

according to the link provided, he looks to be a bit overweight

Height: 6'2¼"
Weight: 6022 lbs

BTW, what is with 2 DEs in succession? Donald Brown is fine with me.

Donald Brown, RB, Connecticut

David VeikuneDEHawaii

Brandon Williams*DETexas Tech

Lydon MurthaOTNebraska

Lee RobinsonOLBAlcorn State

Bear PascoeTEFresno State

Darius PassmoreWRMarshall

C.J. DavisOGPittsburgh

1. RB Donald Brown. If the Cardinals take Brown, the #3 RB prospect in the draft at #31, it will mean they have him rated higher than any of the OLB34 players remaining on their board. McShay addresses the OLB34 needs later, so he at least knows the Cardinals' needs. RB Donald Brown would be a good pick, regardless.

2. OLB34 David Veikune. I think this is a great pick. At first I thought he was a WOLB34 Travis LaBoy clone...but he's really a SOLB34 player...plays super tough and aggressive. Would be, IMO, the perfect player to take over for Chike in a year.

3. OLB34 Brandon Williams. Here is the WOLB34 draftee. Williams is tall and quick. needs to add 15 pounds of strength, which is fine. I think he is good pick here too, although Williams is going to need more time to develop (which makes me wonder which current OLB he would make the roster over).

4. T Lydon Murtha. Has very good size at 6-7, 323, and was a stalwart at Nebraska. Might translate better as a guard in the NFL. But in the 4th round this pick is a reach.

5. OLB34 Lee Robinson. Love this pick. Very good value in 5th round. Robinson can play SOLB or WOLB and possibly ILB (which would have to be the case for a roster spot). This kid is one aggressive football player who can stuff runs and get after the QB.

6. TE Bear Pascoe. High effort player, but is a tad too slow for our offense. Whiz likes his TEs to threaten the seams. Remember the cutch 3rd down pass up the seam to Spach in the Falcon playoff game?

7. WR Darius Passmore. No way he's on the board in the 7th round. This kid is one of the real WR sleeper/gems in this draft. In fact, I would have taken Robinson in round 4 and Passimore in Round 5. This is a great pick.

7. G C.J. Davis. Great pick here too. Really doubt he will be taken this late. He's a shorter guard/center prospect who rolls his hips well and takes DTs for a ride. Not a great pass protector yet, but let grimm take care of that.

In summary (and I am going to go see McShay's whole mock to see what players were still on the board)...I like this draft a lot. The only two picks that I would question are Murtha and Pascoe...if they are the 7th rounders, fine. But not the 4th and 6th rounders.

I'd give McShay a B here.

Bear Pascoe has a cool name, and Passmore is a great name for a wide receiver...but with the exception of Donald Brown, I don't see any of those guys as much of a possibility for the Cards.

I like the Donald Brown and Lee Robinson picks. I wouldn't mind Veikune and Williams but I think they're a round too soon. I like Cornelius Lewis over Murtha.

There is no way Veikune gets picked in the second round...
