I only suggest trading down because to me it seems like the Cards are more than one player away from being in the playoffs. We need help on the Oline, at RB and a QB of the future. By trading down a bit in the first round, we can probably get two of those pieces instead of just one.

Cough cough Calvin Pace and Bryant Johnson over Byron Leftwich Cough cough :thud:

I wouldn't be surprised to see Cleveland take Tamba Hali with their pick. Yeah, he's a tweener, but those are the kinds of players that Romeo Crennell loves. I think that he's going to go shooting up draft boards as the after-season progresses.

yep he really impressed me last night, very athletic and relentless.

Anybody hear the outcome of the LB's knee injury? he looked great last night really hated to see him get hurt. THe way the RB hit his knee I immediately thought broken kneecap or leg.

Why is everyone on the draft Cutler bandwagon???????I dont understand why everyone wants a QB that did not win while he was in school. Has he ever been to a bowl game???? I read these posts and see people talking about how good his mechanics are and all this stuff, But when i read things and talk to people it is the same all the time. Great arm and is a leader, but has bad mechanics, bad footwork, never won a big game and makes to many mistakes because he thinks his arm is better then it is. Everyone thinks his stock will rise at the senior bowl but it has not even been played yet and people are saying he will be in the top 10???? I must be alone in my thinking.

and another thing is Denny likes Big time players from big time schools. Cutler and Vandy does not fit that mold

I wanted to trade down last year. But, that was because I thought the top ten was weaker than usual while the depth in last year's draft was much better than usual. This year, I think it's going to be too hard to count on getting real contributors in rds 2-4. At least, that's my opinion now. I would lean towards staying put. Depends on the actual offers of course.

Because everyone was on the "draft Ngata" bandwagon last week and then they actually saw him play. Same thing may happen after the Senior Bowl with Cutler. Or, he might have a nice game there and then we'll get posts of people threatening to drop their season tickets if we don't trade up for him.

I truly don't know the answer to the question I'm going to ask: Was Roethlisberger ever in a bowl game? Leftwich? Randy Moss? Culpepper?

So the Steelers take another RB? Sure it makes sense with Parker being a speed back and the way the RB's there are rode hard and put away broke... but what about Duce Staley? They payed big money and even though he's been too injured the last 2(?) years to be effective do you really think the team would cut ties with him?

They did an update during the game where a doctor said it might be a leg fracture not a ligament the way they were looking at his knee. But that's the last I heard. Just hate to see that stuff, wasn't a dirty block either they teach RB's to dive like that, just happened to hit the leg when he tried to jump over the block.

I'm not sure about Culpepper but Ben,Byron, and Moss were in bowl games. The MAC champs used to play in the Motor City bowl but that affilliation may have changed.I seem to remember Leftwich playing in 2 of those with the first one being a remarkable game with both teams in the 50+ points range.

I will say it right now...

If Vince Young wins a national title, he will come out and he will be the #1 draft pick by the Houston Texans.

Nothing good ever comes from a guy named Vince...

The more I look at that mock the more that I think it is crazy. The Packers are taking a RB guaranteed. They don't have any of them under contract next year.

I will give you that, but they played in the motor city bowl(I know, I know)
But they all won in college. I would be a bit scared to draft a guy that did not win a lot in college. Thats just me

By the way, Is anyone watching the game? What a throw by Leinart.I know it is early but he always brings his A game when he needs it the most

I was thinking the same thing. I think they would be a team that tries to trade down. add a pick or 2 and take a look at williams

It's very early - you have to cut mock drafts written in December a lot of slack. I bet you're right about the Pack, and I can see a number of other projections on there (like the cards taking a DE to sit behind $25 million Okeafor and Pro Bowler Berry) that make very little sense.

Youngs' advisors are telling him to delay coming out as a junior. He could go number 1 or 2 in 2007. Should Young invest in year 2007 and get an additional $5 million plus? What would you do? If we could get Morency or White at around the 20th pick it might be wise to trade down to pick up an additional 2nd round pick. Scott, Thomas, McNeil, Colledge, Joseph could be available for offensive line help around the 50th pick.

Having Mario Williams there at #10 would be like having Julius Peppers at #10. Calvin Pace has contributed nothing as an Arizona Cardinal except as an on-field and off-field embarassment. His "production" could easily be replaced by Antonio Smith. You don't pass on a player of Willams' talent. Personally, I'd be doing backflips if the Buffalo Bills and Lions were idiotic enough to pass on him.

Slightly OT, but why isn't Poslusnsky listed as an underclassman? Didn't they say last night that he has a year of eligibility left?

I agree.
