Why would we give Toler a nickname? He has played one game and not done anything special.

The only one who needs a nickname is Brandon Keith. I think his nickname should be something along the lines of "pancake, road kill, or "the cone".

I was thinking a nickname more along "the cheese" since he seems unable to block anything unless using illegal manuevers(sp?) to his advantage.

How about the "House Call"? Because he only arrives at offensive players after they've already caught something?

1/5

Cards gave up something like 240 yds through the air. Part of that is because they shut down the run fairly well. They only gave up 13 pts and that's with 4 TO's. We are 4th in the league on yards per pass play at 4.6.

Yes it was against a rookie QB with less then stellar WR's. So while I'm not voting for Toler to be a starter in the pro bowl (at this time) I'm also not calling for his head.

The Cards, playing against a rookie QB and the worst WR corps in the National Football League, currently stand as the 23rd-ranked pass defense in the NFL.

Where am I calling for Toler's head? I said this on another thread, but he had 13 tackles. That's wonderful, but I want my cornerbacks defending at least one pass (he had 0 passes defensed last week) before I start giving him a positive nickname.

Maybe not calling for his head but anytime someone has posted something positive about Toler you have replied with a non positive post. After awhile one gets the impression you are not happy with his play. ;)

Won't and can't argue the zero passes defended, that does have to improve.

I'm not sure where this came from (It just popped into my mind):

"Hoover"

Maybe because Toler reminds me of a vacuum cleaner who runs through guys "low", scoops up players and also an occasional loose football.

Had our offense not coughed up the ball repeatedly, this wouldn't have been the case, because the d wouldn't have been on the field for what was it, 81 snaps?

As long as it isn't because you think he sucks...

Yeah no kidding. We used to called one of the "more freely spirited" girls from high school Hoover. She wasn't an athlete so-to-speak but had a certain physical talent that was undeniable. She didn't play football, but it definitely felt like she was part of the team.
