Reporter: What did he (the receiver who went down) say to you?

Coghlan: (laughs).....I'll have to pick my spot. It was a quiet moment, let's just say that.

I'm tired, and I'm sure the spelling could be off, as is my paraphrasing, but overall, it was Coghlan's way of saying that even the WR didn't think it would be called the way it was because he didn't mean to go down, he slipped.

The idiot thought he was down by contact. Just an absolutely horrendous error by the ego maniacs who call NFL games.

Because, had he gotten up and ran for a TD, no one would have said a word.

This call will be talked about for a while (ie a few days). Sucks for us. Sucks, sucks, sucks for us.

Doesn't matter to me in the slightest. THEY MADE PLAYS. WE DIDN'T.

Period.

That call to me is irrelevant. Make the plays to win the game. The Cards didn't make a play there, they almost had a gift dropped in their lap that they didn't deserve. They didn't EARN that mistake by Cruz.

There is much more to complain about in this game. Kolb's play, the coaches stupid decisions....etc. Those are legitimately why they lost the game.

^ This.

The Cardinals are not going to get those calls, so if they ever grow a brain they won't let it come down to that stuff.

They had the ball with a lead twice and pissed it away, enough said.

Still a bad call. And, there were a few others, but, yeah, there are other reasons we lost this game. Was a BS call though and there's no shame saying so.

I have no doubt it would not have gone against any other team.

Don't even need to see it to believe you.

Victor Cruz said he thought he was touched and that is why he said he gave up the ball. Manning said he thought the game was over for the Giants at that moment...

Worst call I've seen in years. It shouldn't have decided the game, but when another team out-Cardinals us, we should benefit. Today, we were robbed.

The refs, by making that call, took the game away from us. For those who say we didn't make plays and the Giants did are entitled to their opinion, but the way the game went the Cards would have won if the refs hadn't screwed up. It's that plain and simple. And if you disagree, don't try to rationalize the outcome by saying we could still have won. All I'm saying we did enough to win if it weren't for a wrong call by the officials. I'm waiting to see the announcement from the League, but I doubt if we're going to see a Jim Joyce type statement. We'll see.

eli on SC said He snapped the ball as fast as possible, like he was smart! Not true at all.
Whiz threw the challenge and ref said whiz could not!
Sorry it was as bad as at DC, Those 2 roughing the passers were not roughing thew passer on the official review on Wed. but Cards still lost the game
Now again against the NFCE!
Hope they choke on it.

It matters to me we did enough to win this game we were up by 8 at DC and 10 today. late in the 4th when the officials screwed us! it is obvious- not even close!

Doesn't matter what other reasons we lost the game... we get that ball right there and the game is pretty much over the way Beanie was running. It was close to 4 minutes or so remaining. It sucks hard to thing and talk about that pathetic call.

Yeah, right! Did you see what happened when we had a chance to run some clock? One run and TWO PASSES!

No doubt. Always us. I mean, freaking really? I know we didn't NECESSARILY lose the game on that call (but, um, yeah), but REALLY? Bull freaking sheeeett!

I can't help but thinking accidents are usually spread around more.

Victor Cruz said he thought he was touched and that is why he said he gave up the ball. Manning said he thought the game was over for the Giants at that moment...

The proof is in Cruz since the game. He told the Daily News right after the game "I thought I was touched." Several hours later after all the controversy and explanation of the rule he told the NY TImes he wanted to give himself up so "I just wanted to get down."

Manning said he's made the same mistake once or twice and he immediately knew the rule and thought the game was over. So it's pretty clear they weren't told to do that as Greenie said on Mike and Mike this morning.

Well, they made a ******* play there and the refs totally bailed them out. We'd probably win if we get a mulligan at the end too.

Oops... I forgot about our playcalling. Yep, probably 3 and out anyway and our defense let them score with few seconds left.

It's been said: The non-call wasn't the reason the team lost.

Nothing takes place in a vacuum.
The offense was sputtering.
There's pressure to put up a game-ending play.
A big play happens. A call wasn't made. They got screwed.
Now there's a rookie CB, chomping at the bit with all kinds of crazy who-knows what going on in his rookie brain. He doesn't stay with the play.
Single safety gets responsibility for the back.

That's the error. Situational awareness.

Horton's stuck manufacturing pressure because the team has no edge rusher.
He brought heat in a big way.

Can't fault him for it, but when you've got such an inexperienced group on the edge your first responsibility is to make sure they've got help. Best friend is a good pass rush, but when you don't have a good one you've got to get buddies to help the perimeter.
