sounds like Nash is playing very smart ball today. btw, Kobe and Kwame are out today..how is this pathetic Lakers team even hanging with the Suns?

Our 3-point shooting hasn't been too good, and we're taking a long time to put a shot up. Part of that is the Lakers defense, but it also looks like they are trying to practice half-court sets a little bit.

Raja may be my favorite player on this team.

All their sucky players have something to prove while this game really means nothing for us.

Raja may be my favorite player on this team.

dang! ball was just stolen from Amare.
Half-court sets? Any insights as to why we're trying that?
to be a bit more versatile when we're slowed down by some teams?

This dude Banks is getting to be a bit frustrating. He has quite a few games with Suns under his belt now...kinda sucks that he isn't as good as he was made out to be, because we've been hoping he'd help to keep Nash fresh for the playoffs. If Banks doesn't pan out, I think it would be important for Amare to get back in shape because he's one of the few who can dominate the game and keep the score ticking when Nash is resting.

Quite a few games? He's only played 4 games with the Suns so far. That's too quick to judge for any player, let alone a point guard. It generally takes longer for point guard to get adjusted to a new system (with Nash being the exception). That's why rookie point guards generally take longer to develop. It's preseason, as long as everybody is getting in shape and we stay away from injury, it's all good.

Quite a few games? Meaning 4?

You can't judge Banks panning out until at least January IMO. Also, don't look at his assist numbers - especially compared to a pass first PG in Williams. Banks brings a different element to the Suns when he will run the team - a la Barbosa.

It certainly would help to have some versatility vs. the Spurs, don't you think?

I guess I disagree about "quite a few"--he's played 3 games with the Suns, only one of which was against an NBA team, not including this one.

I think it's too early to get down on Banks, but there's no doubt he's got a long way to go if he's gonna be the guy that lets Nash sit on the bench and remain fresh for the playoffs.

I like seeing Amare stick that jumper and then block the shot on the foul. He definitely seems to loosen up as the game wears longer - that bodes well for his recovery.

I agree it's probably too early, he has not been too terribly impressive. Banks probably fits the score first slow down style of pt. guard preferred and hated by many on this board so I think he will be a point of contention all year.

only 8 boards for Amare - bad turnover by Banks.
