I've had the lower level seats since the staduim opened - great seats. It's the club level seats that are new. I was just wanting to have some section 203 folks (or thereabouts) describe for me how cool the view/amenities are.

I am in 208 and really like it --

of course, I went from lower bowl at SDS to the the club section at UoP, so of course it seems really nice

here is the thing about the club: the people there are fans, and get into it -- but not like in the lower bowl.

Sometimes thats bad: the fans can be a bit more blaise about things.

Sometimes thats good: I often go with my kids, so i dont have to put up with Mr. out of control drunk dude whose sentences are measured by how many f-bombs they sprinkle in.

See, that's important info. Why I didn't give up my lower level seats. I love the fans loud energy down there.

Still... I'm getting old and comfort, convenience, matters more than it used to in my younger years.

Thanks for input.

Pretty stoked. As if I needed another reason to wait for the season to start, right?

I remember that feeling the first year in UoP when I was finally able to work out having season tickets with my work schedule and other obligations. The anticipation built until next thing you know I'm painting my face and posting on message boards non-stop. Congrats and welcome aboard.

As far as selling out, I will disagree with the other predictions. I think we can pull it out with a fast start this season and continue the energy we began last year with the fans.

Thanks guys

What section?? I just got two in 414

453 row 8. Getting 4 together was a bitch, we had 3 options and those were the best for the $.

I can almost guarantee you that the Texans game will not sell out. That will be UofP's first black out.

I would bet dollars over doughnuts that there will be at least two black outs this year, and it has nothing to do with the Cardinals.

Stupid economy! :mulli:

economy = tired excuse.

beside us few hardcore arizona fans on these boards the rest of the fans in the valley are transplants or bandwagon jumpers and are known through out the country as one of the worst fan bases in america. Pittsburgh is a smaller city, and the economy has hurt them a lot more then it has phoenix and they have a waiting list that is years long.

So don't blame the economy. Blame the crappy phoenix fan base that would rather watch their "hometown" chicago bears or whatever on TV even thought they have not lived in there "hometown" in decades.

But without this poopy economy there wouldn't be any open seats at all. I'll blame whoever I want, and it's a little of both.

Not that I'm losing sleep over this. the season will sell out again, except for maybe one game. Even if none of the games sell out, I won't really give a crap. I'll be there, having a blast.

It is easy to say that the economy isn't an excuse but I now have 3 friends who have been laid off and multiple who work for the state and have to take mandatory unpaid furloughs. Two of those friends have bought tickets in the past and just can't this year. :(

Some of us are blessed enough to weather this storm.

I will do a quick breakdown on the economies effect on ticket sales so even the most simple minded fan can understand. In past years with a good economy the Cardinals have had trouble selling out games, and now with a poor economy the Cardinals, wait for it.....still have problems selling out! What is the ONE CONSTANT factor good economy or bad? (drum roll.....) not selling out games!

:clapping: thank you! thank you! :clapping: Seriously, please stop clapping, please. If there are any questions I will be in the back signing autographs for my new book "Common Sense for sports fans" come stop by!

I agree with you 100% that the economy should have zero to do with the selling out of game sin the Phoenix area. In fact The first two seasons in the stadium there was zero problems selling out.

However since Phx is such a bandwagon city and most of your diehards are your blue collar type workers that have been hit hardest in the job market the economy ABSOLUTELY HAS been a problem. Because those diehards can no longer afford tickets.

That being said th economy should not be an issue one iota. There is 6 million people in the greater Phx area. More than enough to easily sell that stadium out even if it held 85,000 in the current economic ordeal.

Problem is that even the people who arent really affected a major % just arent into the Cardinals unless they are in the playoffs or just dont care or have some allegiance to some other team.

The only reason the economy is a factor is because of the make up of the fan base. Not because there arent enough people with money to purchase the tickets.

You forgot the that in past years the product was also really bad. So having trouble selling in the past had that variable as well. And it is not just a poor economy it is a recession. The one constant "not selling out games" hasn't even happened yet, so you might want to wait before you sign those autographs.

We are a transient city and will always have a fair share of opposing fans, but if the Cards can continue to be competitive, the youth born here will provide a strong backbone for our fan base going forward.

Except that the stadium has been sold out for two straight years...

Kind of shoots a hole in that theory.

Try not to suffer from too much foot in mouth disease in the future.

+1

As I have said before, I was raised a 49ers fan, but have been going to Cards games and trying to jump ship since I was 14. That is not an easy transition to make, but the day that woman took over the 49ers and began destroying the franchise, it became much easier. I know I am not alone in this sort of sentiment. The Card's have (had?) an uphill battle when they came here, and it appears it is FINALLY going their way. You just have to take it for what it is, and instead of cursing new fans for being bandwagoners, welcome them into the fold and hope they are in for the duration.

First I want to say that I whole heartedly empathize the situations the economy has placed on people. I don't like seeing good hard working people lose there jobs and having difficulties taking care of there families.

That being said, Shane H is getting what i'm saying. Of course there are individuals out there that can't afford seats due to the economy or for whatever reason but for every one of those people there are thousands that can. People who are blaming the economy are projecting there own situations onto the rest of us. Yeah, i get it that you and your buddies cant afford tickets, that sucks. It just doesn't mean thats the case for the rest of the valley.

Actually that is not true. There has been over 5 games since the Cardinals have been at UofP that both the Cardinals organization and the Television station had to purchase remaining unsold tickets to keep games from being blacked out.

Come on Chris, you are not just a moderator but a SUPER MODERATOR! you should know this stuff!

But hey Chris, no bad feelings. If you want to bring some gold bond foot powder to the back or touch actin Tinactin I will sign it for you.

Umm, the Cards are not allowed by the NFL to buy their own tickets. Every game has been sold out even if the pool company bought the remaining tickets as part of its advertising budget. Television has never bought tickets to insure sellout in the new stadium.

Cardsloco is a good handle for you since your comment is utter horse manure. Remember the Miami Dolphins home opener? The Cards and the TV station bought several hundred upper bowl tickets so that the game would remain on television. This is 100% allowed by the NFL and many other teams have done the same thing in the past.

Again, this is not speculation, or me throwing out wild comments for fun this is a fact. The best thing about facts is that they are 100% true since they are based on what really happened.

Feeble is a better handle for you, as I think your memory is feeble. I won't blindly throw something up and expect you to believe it, instead I will just post a nice link or two for you.

http://www.kpho.com/sports/17450350/detail.html

or

http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/125592

No where in the stories does it mention television, or a sponsor, or the team for that matter, buying the remaining tickets. I think if a sponsor stood up and bought the tickets it would want to get the publicity that comes along with it, as the case with Leslie's pools last year.

I understand you believing that your comments are facts, that happens when your memory goes, but that belief does not make it so. Oh, and please provide a link to the teams that are buying their own tickets, I am curious to see that. One last thing, here is the link to another article about the economy affecting ticket sales.

Happy reading!

Good job cardsloco.

Feeble must pertain to his memory. The game he is thinking of is the Denver preseason game last year.
