If you were putting together a new team from only current Cardinal players, but could draft them as rookies, what would the top 10 on your Cardinal Big Board look like:

1. Larry Fitzgerald
2. Patrick Peterson
3. David Johnson
4. Carson Palmer
5. Calais Campbell
6. Jared Veldheer
7. Chandler Jones
8. Tyrann Mathieu
9. Deone Bucannon
10. Robert Nkemdiche

I love me some DJ, but no way he is above Palmer. Palmer has to be #1, without him no of this works.

DJ seems a little high (at least until he proves some longevity) and Honey Badger seems a little low (knee issues not withstanding). Shows you how deep our talent level is though, as it would be a tough sell to put Badger over Campbell, Veldheer or Jones.

And this is if we drafted them as rookies, so that means Bruce gets Carson from day 1. SIGN ME UP FOR THAT!!! Makes Carson much higher on list. Maybe even #1.

Have to go with the Franchise QB first. And a rookie that hasn't played a down cannot make the list. No 2000 yard rusher on the list either??

1. Carson Palmer - Franchise QB above all others
2. Larry Fitzgerald - Sure HOF with high production for many years and the most dominating at his position over several seasons.
3. Patrick Peterson - If he keeps his level of play... See above
4. Chris Johnson - The most explosive RB in the league in his first fours years including a 2000 yard season.
5. Tyrann Mathieu - Big IF.... Could be very special if he can stay healthy
6. Chandler Jones - One of the best pass rushers in the league - High value
7. Jared Veldheer - Borderline Pro Bowler and a lock as a starter at one of the most important positions in the league.
8. Mike Iupoti - Top 3 at his position (low priority) since his 2nd year
9. Calais Campbell - Underated for years but one of the best at his position over many years
10A. David Jonson - Explosive 3-down RB should become a top 5 RB in the league if he keeps his level
10B. Evan Mathis - slow start to career, but rated as the best interior Olineman in the league for several seasons

I didnt post but I thought similar things. All 3 lineman, Palmer, CJ, campbell, fitz, peterson, mathieu.

After that could be chandler jones, I guess rules disclude dwight freeney. Maybe DJ.

Very good list. The only change I would make is Chandler #5 and Mathieu #6 simply because pass rushers are worth more than safeties. You could even put them 5A and 5B.

This. Can't argue with any of it.

Give me Mike Iupati over Bucannon.

I hate to say it, but if we could draft Daryl Washington and insure he doesn't get into trouble. I would have him up there before Nkemdiche.

We get them as a rookie? Hell, put freaking Chris Johnson on there instead of DJ because we really do not know what we have with DJ yet, though I think he will be great :)

Edit: trying to reply to SweetD's post on mobile.

So go back to 2004, Rivers and Roethlisberger are on the board. Do you still draft Larry?

I love larry, but I'm drafting Ben.

Agreed. He could be anywhere between 5 and 10.

This is what stinks about football. You can have the best rb, wr, dline, oline but if you have a not so great QB, the team won't go anywhere.
