Has there ever been such a talented player that gets injured more often than McGrady? He banged up his knee again this weekend during the pistons game.

This guy is tissue soft and makes me happy Amare only has two bad knees :)

Unfortunately, only other player with an extensive history of medical issues is Grant Hill. I hope that Coach D will find a way to reduce his minutes down the stretch to minimize that possibility because so far, the guy is on fire!

On Inside the NBA the other night, Magic was suggesting the Rockets should try to move TMac, as the Yao-TMac combo doesn't seem to be the ticket to being a top flight team. While I would seriously doubt the Rockets move Tmac the first year into the Tmac-Yao-Adelman experiment.

So I was trying to think up a reasonable trade, that also works under the cap. So this is something anyhow:

Houston sends:
Tracy McGrady
Shane Battier
1st Rd Draft pick (I couldnt find anywhere that listed what picks they still have)
Carl Landry
Steve Novak

Milwaukee sends:
Michael Redd
Yi Jianlian

Houston does this because they get Michael Redd who's just as able as TMac at scoring a bunch of points. Plus, he's a better outside shooter, so he may fit w/ the Adelman-Princeton type system that could feed Yao in the post, allow defenses to collapse, and then he could kick out to Redd.

Houston also gets Yi, and he can play alongside Yao, and wouldn't that just be adorable! Then Aldeman can be named commander of Chinese Western Forces. It improves the Rockets front court down the road, and Yi can play sort of a midrange game when on the floor w/ Yao.

The problem is why would the Bucks do it? They get TMac, who's probably more of a 'superstar' than Redd, for whatever thats worth. But Redd is younger, and generally healthier. They get Battier to keep a strong perimeter presence and a good defender.

They also lose their first round pick, and their presence in the Asian market. Novak and Landry are just fillers obviously, to try to make the trade a bit more balanced for the Bucks, plus their young and may develop into something. Maybe Houston would have to send 2 picks?

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong and this is a good trade for the Bucks.

EDIT: VVV Oh, I wouldn't want him on the Suns paired w/ Amare, as they both seem to be defensive liabilities. I'd rather find a young Kurt Thomas type to pair w/ Amare. Maybe when Jeff Pendergraph comes out in a couple of years :p

But I agree, its not a good deal for Milwaukee, I tried to sweeten it w/ a pick and Battier, but they still wouldn't do it. Like I said, moving TMac w/ his salary, injuries and seeming inability to get out of the 1st round would be tough.

That's cute idea indeed.:)

I watched Bucks win over Bobcats the other night when Yi got 29/10 on 14/17 shooting. This guy has really high bball IQ, is very athletic and very good defender already, and has great on court attitude too. What he lacks now is some strength to do more low post work on both sides of the court. In two years, I expect him to be about the level of Gasol, if the selfish backcourt of Redd-Mo doesn't impede his development too much. He'd be the perfect 4 for the Suns to play next to Amare at 5.

That being said, there is no way Bucks would trade him for oft injured TMAC. His marketing potential is way too much for them to give up on, in addition to his skill potential.

Maybe Isaiah Thomas will make the Rockets an offer for McInjured they can't refuse?

This is a rumor on Yahoo that Bulls might go after Tracy for probably Wallace and Gordon.
