JJ is a potential future fourth option. Last time I checked, our fourth option was Penny.

That's right, and everyone saw how the offense ground to a complete halt when Hardaway was injured.

Those who think Johnson showed improvement last season should compare his numbers to those of his rookie year. Except for a slight increase in three-point accuracy, he was almost exactly the same player.

Johnson's still has a whole lot to prove. Offensively he had some good games, but he was completely inconsistent. Defensively he showed he had the ability to lock down quality small forwards and shooting guards, but he didn't play with all of his effort every game.

Of course a large part of the problem when Hardaway went down was that the Phoenix Suns had no depth off the bench. Once Johnson went into the starting lineup there was almost no scoring from the bench.

When Penny went down, not only that there was no scoring off the bench, but there was nobody (other than Marbury) capable of generating any offense (playmaking) JJ can bring the ball up the floor, but he can generate no offense.
