Trades to do in offseason

I am trying to see how to improve our team though trades before the draft next year. I think there are a couple of options I would like to see happen.
1. If Drake plays like he did last week the rest of the season, I say we call up Arians and offer up DJ to BA for guard Marpet. BA loves him some DJ and they need a RB like we need OL. This is a win win for both teams. We could sign Drake for less $$ than DJ and save cap space in the long run.
2. This only happens if Keim talks to PP21 and he tells him he doesn't want to be here, which I believe to be true. If this happens, then we trade PP21 to the Skins for T Williams. This obviously only happens if PP21 wants to leave (we know Williams wants out) and conditioned upon Williams agreeing to a contract before the trade. Williams will cost a few million more than PP21 but we should save most of that with the DJ trade. We could also let Humphries go and free up more space long term.
If both of these were to happen, we would have something we haven't really seen since the Cards have been in Arizona. An OL that not only doesn't hurt us, but actually starts to become a team strength.
This also allows us to concentrate on defense in the draft. With a top 15 pick, we can go DL-LB-corner-whichever is BPA.
What do you guys think? What trades would you be willing to make to improve for next year?

The only trade I see this franchise doing would be shipping peterson to the eagles for a first round pick

Doesn't trading DJ alrer what they can do under the cap? I realize the cards will have ample cap space but Meathead shouldn't continually create dead cap because he is incompetent

No trades.
Tag Peterson.
Boom!
I hope the problem with PP21 is just not being in shape? 3 games in 11 days is tough after not being there for training camp & missing the first 6 games. He talked himself up about all the drills he did on his own while sitting out. It hasn't shown since he's came back. Throw the Giants game out the window because they suck, however he did look pretty fast on that corner blitz sack. On the flip side of that, he sucked against the Saints & 49ers, especially on slant routes, just looked like he has lost a step. Time will tell. If he was really trying to get traded I think he would be playing hard to show he can perform without the PED's.

Trading David Johnson in 2020 creates $16+ million in dead cap, no way does that happen.

EDIT: Make that $9 million, which still makes trading him prohibitive

Yup we keep him in 2020 and I think he has a $3M cap hit in 2021 so thats when we let him go.

It's rather confusing with PP21. He looked like he still has speed on the blitz sack, yet can't or couldn't cover the slant routes against Thomas & Sanders. Thomas he kind of gets a pass on (no pun intended lol) because Thomas is way younger with speed, however, Sanders is 32 so there's no excuse to get beat by him.

Slant pass are difficult to cover especially when u face a super accurate qb like drew brees
The main problem he looked both disinterested and confused in his assignements

I was listening to the "Doug & Wolf" podcast tonight, they played a PP21 sound bite. He said he apologized to the team in the locker room Thursday night, said the loss was on him. Went on to say that him & Brock have good communication on switches with WR's & such, said him & Murphy are not on the same page yet so to speak. Makes sense considering Brocks experience & Murphy being a rookie, plus the fact Peterson hasn't played but a handful of games with Murphy yet. He also said that TD pass to Bettis he looked lost on, he thought the pass was gonna be more of a line drive instead of putting air under it. I suppose he meant that he took more of a line drive angle, instead of just getting to the end zone with a ball hanging longer in the air? But your right though, slant routes are hard to defend, especially against an accurate QB. However, in the past on a slant route, he stayed closer to the WR forcing a near perfect throw. He just looked waaaaaaaay slow on those against Thomas & Sanders. I hope it's a communication problem with him & he just needs to get in football/cover shape?
