Why would we trade two starting players...
Chris Young...... .219 is keeping Gerardo Parra....... .290 from starting in CF

Stephen Drew... .193 is keeping Willie Bloomquist... .299 from starting at SS

That's why. But it looks like Young, Drew and Upton (only fifth in RBI's) will be getting the starts more often than not for the rest of the season.

That is not going to make for a happy roster.

I wonder what Drew and Young thought when they looked at Tuesday's batting order.

8-SS--Drew... .193
9--P--Miley.... .289
1-CF--Young... .219

This from Rotoworld:

Diamondbacks released OF Scott Podsednik.
Very odd. Podsednik was just acquired from the Red Sox this week along with right-hander Matt Albers in exchange for left-hander Craig Breslow. However, the veteran outfielder was granted his release after declining his assignment to Triple-A Reno. It's not clear if the D-Backs tried to find out if Scotty Pods was open to the idea of playing in the minors before agreeing to the deal with Boston, but now they only have Albers to show for the trade.

Now that sucks.

Give up a lefty for just Albers? :bang::bang::bang:

Podsednik is 36. D-Backs weren't really interested in him. They were just taking the remainder of his $750K salary off of Boston's hands.

That would make very little sense, you help BOS out to get Albers for Breslow? Why not just trade Breslow for Albers? Don't get it at all unless Breslow makes way more than Albers.

Maybe they think Albers is better than Breslow. Looking at their stats this year, you can at least make the argument. Additionally, perhaps they consider them near equal in ability and want more of a power arm.
