Michael Bay Confirms He Will Direct Transformers 5

http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/ne...ill-direct-transformers-5#w9UvElvIH3UDoM3m.99

Despite previously casting doubt on his involvement, like he has for each of the other sequels as well, director Michael Bay confirmed in a new profile at Rolling Stone that he will return for the upcoming Transformers 5 for a summer 2017 release.

Transformers 5 is set to be written by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) with Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg also returning for the film.

Transformers 5, featuring a script by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down), will be directed once again by Michael Bay and is set to crash into theaters on June 23, 2017, where it will open against Warner Bros.’ upcoming Wonder Woman movie. Mark Wahlberg has also confirmed he will return for the film.

The problem with Michael Bay no matter who writes the script is he alters the scripts by focusing on action sequences. He could get an Oscar caliber script about a hospital and turn it into the most action packed surgery ever.

They are following the Star Wars and Fast & Furious mind set. If they want to announce future movie release dates, we will to!

So they can avoid the SW tsunami. It's not going to matter who claims whatever date now. If Disney wants to put SW episode movie there the other movie is toast.

Loop 303 closed for filming of 'Transformers 5: The Last Knight' movie, ADOT says

http://www.abc15.com//news/region-p...ransformers-5-the-last-knight-movie-adot-says

The Arizona Department of Transportation says a portion of the Loop 303 will be closed for five days while "Transformers" takes over -- yes, you read that right.

Starting at 2 a.m. Friday and continuing through late Wednesday, June 15, Paramount Pictures will be filming for "Transformers 5: The Last Knight".

The crews will be shooting in Phoenix for two weeks, according to a production spokesperson, before moving on to Michigan. They're having a "great" time, despite the heat "which we're not used to," the spokesperson said in an email.

The movie studio received permission to film through a permit with ADOT.

Rental. I just can't buy into Bay's version any longer. A couple entertaining films surrounded by mounds of crap.

Ive always hated the human involvement in the Transformers movies. As if humans are important or can actually battle these robots. And to that point, these decepticons look like bumbling idiots because they get so easily killed by humans with human weapons.

transformers should just be the absolute extermination of humans. Thats more realistic. The autobots being the only thing that can protect us. I hate this stupid partnership as if we are equal to them.

And since my rant is on a role, I absolutely despise that this new Transformers movie stars kids. Kids are worthless. They cant help in any situation. But no. Im sure these 9 year olds will probably have a big hand in stopping Megatron.

‘Transformers 5’ Endures Franchise Low As Indies Perform Well At The Box Office
Sofia Coppola’s “The Beguiled” and Kumail Nanjiani’s “The Big Sick” had strong per-screen averages.
LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - It seems the “Transformers” franchise is rusty.

As of Sunday morning, “Transformers: The Last Knight,” the fifth installment directed by Michael Bay, looks to bring in $69.1 million from 4,069 domestic locations during its five-day opening weekend. That’s a franchise low for the sequel from Paramount and Hasbro, behind the first in the modern series, which earned $70.5 million in 2007. “The Last Knight” carries an estimated $217 million production budget.

This makes “Transformers: The Last Knight” the latest summer blockbuster to bank on overseas ticket sales to have a shot at turning a profit. In China, the big-budget action sequel made $41 million in its opening day alone. The projected international come through Sunday is $196.2 million, powered by $123.4 million in China.

China Box Office: 'Transformers 5' Opens to Huge $123M, But Can It Hold?
To the surprise of absolutely no one, Paramount's Transformers: The Last Knight made a major ruckus at the Chinese box office over the weekend.

The fifth installment in Michael Bay's critically maligned, commercially smash-successful franchise opened to a huge $123 million in the Middle Kingdom. And yet, some in the market might view that tally as just a touch disappointing. Going into the summer, the big question for China industry watchers was whether Universal's Fast 8 or Paramount's T5would emerge as 2017's local box-office champ. It's now clear that Vin Diesel and co. have the title locked up: The Fate of the Furious opened to $190 million on its way to a historic $393 million China haul.

Still, a $123 million opening is nothing to scoff at whatsoever.

Every time I saw a preview for this, I imagined Shane overseas in London trying to convince his girlfriend to go see it while they were on vacation. :)
