We'll get a chance to speak to free-agent visitor Travis LaBoy soon; the defensive end is apparently high on the Cards and he seems like a good candidate to sign. We'll see. Also on the radar screen is 6-foot-4, 253-pound tight end Jereme Tuman, a former Steelers player who played six games for Pittsburgh last year and is definitely more of a blocker. So there is a chance we could see some signings by the end of the day.

EDIT: It also appears Titans defensive end Antwan Odom is no longer coming out, according to the Tennessean.

If Tuman, in fact, can play and we sign him, remember that a blocking TE = an O-line upgrade.

And Tuman is an ex-steeler so it seems like Whis wants him here. Tuman on first and second and Pope on passing third downs. I like LaBoy's stats over Odom's so if we sign LaBoy, that's great by me.

I don't know about Laboy, that guy is a patient year round. I guess it's better than nothing. Just please don't sign him to a big contract.

Amen! Asked my father, who watches every Steelers game, and he said that he's not fast, has okay hands, is strong as a bull and can block as well as any TE in the league. I'll take one of those, please! Set Edge back in a single-back formation, with Boldin and Fitz, and Pope and Tuman, and have a field day throwing or running :)

And don't forget Terrelle Smith in the mix either. The Cardinals can play a more jumbo-set offense approach (especially during short-yard situations). Now, let's hope they draft a blazing RB can complement "Edge" and develop into James' heir-apparent.

I second the motion...as I mentioned in another post he is a fierce blocker. Nice thing about picking up guys who know the Wiz/Grimm systems is they hit the ground running so to speak..little learning curve. The OL which we all admit came a long way this past year will now step up a good sized notch.
