Are any of you guys going to watch this tonight? I have the DVR set (way too much good TV on tonight). It is by the same guy who did the Wire. The preview on HBO made it look very good.

For anyone who wants to know it takes place in New Orleans three months after Katrina. From what I can tell it just talks about their lives trying to re-coup after the hurricane. It has a lot of music in it and John Goodman. With those plus hopefully Wire type writing I'll be hooked.

If I had HBO, this and Curb would probably be my big shows, with True Blood 3rd.

Also starring two guys from The Wire, Bunk and Lester (I believe).

Great episode. Love the music, especially the song during the title credits. Looking forward to see how this progresses.

Very good second episode. They are continuing to set up this series. Look forward to see where it heads. Also I love the music that is all over this show.

Started watching because they had Stanton Moore in the previews. I'm hooked on it now, for different reasons.

Most recent episode is the best of the series. After using the first few episodes to set up most of the characters this episode is where the story really gets going. This keeps getting better.

this show doesn't keep drawing me back because of the story but the characters sure as hell do. Really good character study. oh, and I want to marry the fiddle player.

Well that's good to hear. I've watched the first three and I haven't gotten hooked yet. The production and setting is incredible, but the story is lacking. The only interesting characters are John Goodman and Lester from The Wire.

I know some of you guys didn't like Steve Zahn but he was absolutely fantastic in this episode. Show is solid, not spectacular but it is only a few episodes old so I don't know if it is fair to expect it to be up to the Wire's quality yet since the Wire took some time as well.

If you only watch this show for the music you wouldn't be disappointed. Since there is an actual story and really good acting makes this show very good. While this week's installment wasn't the best it had it's moments. I am worried that there are too many story lines going on but I trust David Simon to sort thru them all and get us exactly where he wants us to be.

Finally got the chance to watch this episode. It was very tough to watch because of all the tragedy that went on in this hour. LaDonna will be a very interesting character to watch the rest of this season to see how she manages to hold the truth of Deymo from her family during the joyous days of Carnival. One other point, who wouldn't want John Goodman as a teacher?

This last episode was my favorite episode of the run so far. I've never been to Mardi Gras but I felt like I went to some of it during this show. Really liked the Annie and Davis story line. Kind of hope those two meet up again at some point.

This episode belonged to John Goodman. He character has been such a downer the last few episodes and we now know why. He wasn’t upset but suffering depression. I knew the second you saw him change overnight things weren’t going to end well. I really like the way Treme approached this and executed the entire lead up to the character’s death. Know you have to wonder how his family is going to take this and how it will affect the show as a whole. So many other small story lines but those pale in comparison. Sad to see Sunday is the season finale and we will have to wait a while for more episodes.

do we know he's definitely dead? I'm pretty sure he offed himself and it's not David Simon's style to have cliffhangery type stuff in his character dramas, but did they show something on next week's previews that cemented that?

Not certain he is dead but I am guessing he is. Like you said Simon doesn't usually leave ends undone like that. Plus some other small things like Goodman was listed as a guest star all season instead of a normal castmember. One thing I read online was the book he had his class read "The Awakening" ends with it's main character killing herself by drowning in the Gulf of Mexico.

A great ending for a great show. This is one of those shows that during the season it seems like nothing is really happening but at the end of the year you realize how much has changed. Can't wait to see where they take it next year.

Treme returns tonight and by all accounts has a much tighter storyline and is even better than last season. Can't wait.
