Let this be a lesson to us all, not to be so quick to label a player a bust if they don't immediately set the world on fire.
Not me. I watched him living in CO and I knew he wasn't a bust.

Don't ask me about Isaiah Simmons though, I'd rather not talk about it.

It's funny you mention having known about him. Before the draft, there was a caller to Philly sports talk radio who said he had seen Trey play at CSU firsthand as well. He wanted the eagles to take him and said he was going to be a beast. That bit of foresight by that guy has stuck with me throughout his career to this point. Folks like you and that dude KNEW he was special.

“Kyler, one of the first guys I talked to, FaceTimed me,” the TE said via NFL.com. “We were able to talk, just rejoice. Really just how excited we are to play with each other for a few more years, to grow, to win, to do all the things that we want to do together. To know that me and him will be here together for a long time was very special.

The details are out. Looks like they added just $3.3 million to the cap this year. Easy contract to get out of after the first year. Great deal for both sides.

CC is the only deal not updated yet, but it is a $5.5 million hit. After him the rookie pool, we have $23 million left. Can add two players on 1 year deals if they choose to find holes to plug post draft.

I wonder if the league believes he’s more valuable than laporta at this point.
That is splitting hairs IMO.

There is/was a clear top 6 at TE IMO. Andrews and Kelce seem to be on a decline. Kittle, McBride, Bowers and LaPorta have about the same value. Right now, based on last season’s performance I would say McBride has the highest value. Younger than Kittle. Better than Laporta. More complete than Bowers.

EDIT: if Hochenson is back fully healthy he is is also in that group.

I’m perplexed by the large amount of available cap room.

I’m sure we will see a couple of players added still, but I was not expecting anyone that would make a significant impact to that.

Hernandez?

Is Samuel jr. still in play?

Any trades before the season?

Keeping it for an in season trade?

Keeping just because there is no one to spend it on?
