Tribe put C Martinez, 2B Barfield on DL (AP)

The Cleveland Indians placed All-Star catcher Victor Martinez on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, adding another marquee name to their list of ailing players. Second baseman Josh Barfield, just called up on Monday, also went on the 15-day DL with a strained left middle finger. Martinez has an inflamed right elbow, and the Indians gave no immediate timetable for his return.
