Anyone know how that came about?

I purpose the following rules upon the Trivia thread:

1) The question must be football related.

2) A link providing the answer must be provided upon request.

3) All questions and anwsers will deal with facts and data, No Opinions.

4) The poster who gets his/her correct answer up first wins the opportunity to pose the next question. This of course can be passed to someone else, but must be done so by name.

5) This is an exhibition, not a competion, so please...No Wagering!

With these stip's, I will now hand it off to JFK...the ball is in your court!

Thank you fellow Romans.

Q. What in the past links the Denver Broncos and the defunct Copper Bowl in Tucson? (not individual player related)

A. The original uniforms of the Donkeys were from the Copper Bowl:

On August 14, 1959, Bob Howsam was awarded an AFL charter franchise. Although Howsam had been the successful owner of a minor league baseball team, he was severely limited financially—he was forced to clothe his first team in old uniforms which he got from the defunct Copper Bowl in Tucson, Arizona. Making the uniforms particularly joke-worthy were the vertically-striped socks. When Jack Faulkner took over as head coach and general manager two years later, the socks were destroyed in a public burning ceremony.

In what year did the NFL change the rule that called a ball carrier "down" after being knocked down (i.e., "tackled") by an opponent. Prior to this, the ball carrier could continue running if he was not "in the grasp" of the tackler.

Do you ever wonder how many yards a guy like Red Grange or Steve van Buren gained for the record book AFTER being "tackled?"
