Please. Dallas' line was not overly talented aside from Flozell Adams. Hambrick and Marcel had about the same YPC, and Hambrick had only 20 more carries. I guess next you'll tell me that all 20 of those extra carries were in the red zone, where all Marcel can do is fumble, right?
At least their line played somewhat like a unit rather than whatever it was the Cardinals did last year. Better scheme's and playcalling that's not so predictable. I don't doubt that Shipp may be in trouble next year, but Hambrick is not the answer, and he's not better than Shipp. We've been over all this before though ;)

I think they'll keep Shipp as he would be a great 2nd RB, I think even you admit that. I hope he comes back the last few games this season, but I doubt he can.

I know amazing stats...durability in the NFL?

Is that a beach-ball he is carrying?...

543 healthy carries since that freshman year.

The beach-ball comment was pretty funny. It does look weird.

I personally think this Hambrick thing is freakin funny. I mean come on... all the whining and crying he did in Dallas about playing behind Emmitt.... guess what Troy, time to do it again! haha!

he's an ass, and won't last a year here. NEXT!

Yeah, bring in Sproles. if his body lasts, anyway.

Hopefully without Barry's laugh.......if you watched the Hall of Fame introduction speech when he broke into his resonating laugh, it made me laugh.

On a serious note, if this kid holds up this year ,I'll jump on the bandwagon. You let me have my way with Fitz......it's your turn here.

I know one thing, I am going to have fun watching him play, and be looking for every opportunity to do so.

Everybody will be pulling for the "little-guy" to succeed and win the H-trophy.

He would be a heck of a crowd-favorite as a Cardinal too.

Wow! 5-7 though? I know priest is only 5-8, but still, thats really small. At 180 though, he must be rock solid. I'm 6-2 180, and can't imgaine being 7 inches shorter and the same weight.

What Section 11 didn't tell us is that he has a 46 inch waist. :D

Sproles is The Bomb.

For those of you who to date have only been exposed to him based on stats or hearsay, make a point of actually seeing him play. He's unbelievable.

I have been on the Sproles bandwagon for 2 years now. I wrote this in another thread about Sproles about 2 weeks ago. This is for any doubters about his size or ability to take hits, ect.

"There are only 10 guys all time to ever break the 2000 yard mark for RB's in college. Sproles was 14 yards short of 2000 last year and is 11 on the list all time for most rushing yards in a single season. Had 1500 yards his sophmore year. All of that as a junior and sophmore year while taking the pounding against good competition for 2 years straight without taking any injuries in the process, so yes he can stand up to the pounding plus more. He has got better every single year he has played, so what is in store for him this year.

He has the single season Big 12 all purpose yards record and will most likely break Ricky williams career rushing yards record in the big 12 and only needs 1627 yards to do it. If that isnt called being able to take a pounding I dont know what is."

he's fun to watch but I think the biggest factor on where he goes in the draft is probably how well Quentin Griffin plays in Denver. If he bombs out, Sproles' stock will take a hit, fair or not, if he succeeds, SProles stock goes up.

The NFL is a copycat league.

Well, maybe the Sticky-Ricky comparrison is not the best choice...in terms of being able to take the pounding.

The obvious question is the difference in "pounding-levels" from College to the NFL.

What does it look like when a 5'7", 180 back tries to pick up a Blitzing NFL LB?

But he is 5'7. He isnt even rated as a top 50 prospect next year. IN fact the sporting news has him rated at #59:

59. RB Darren Sproles, Sr. Kansas State 5-7 170
Sproles might be puny, but the guy can flat out play. He’s a workhorse with unbelievable quickness and speed. If he gets in the open field, it’s over. No NFL team will think about making him a feature back, but he can certainly be a difference maker

Id rather have Benson, Williams, or Barber from Minnesota!

If Hambrick gains the 1000 yards and 7 TDs that Dennis Green predicted for Marcel Shipp this season, wave goodbye to #31. Hambrick is more stout, has equivalent speed (neither can turn the corner of have a second gear in the open field), and can find the end zone. In equivalent action last season, Troy Hambrick found the end zone 5 times to however many Marcel scored.

There's a competition for who is going to be the Moe Williams/Leroy Hoard for Dennis Green. Marcel had his audition in 2003. If Hambrick reaches the 1000 yard plateau, or scores 7 TDs, Shipp is toast.

Flame away.

I would hardly say that ANYONE besides you feels last year was Shipps audition! Obviously Green and anyone else who knows squat about football knows that we never really were in many positions to have a good running game last year. The games that we were in that position Shipp got the job done very well.

If Hambrick does do well, I will agree that Shipp will have another very uphill battle to get back into the starting lineup, but I dont think he will be cut because of it.

Comparing him the Ricky is a great comparison. Say all you want about him retiring but the guy ran and caught the ball more then any other RB in the NFL for the last 3 straight years behind some peice of crap olines in Miami, all the while starting every single game during the process. The guy was a freaking workhorse who took a beating every single Sunday.

As for the difference between pounding levels in college and the NFL. A guy has has or will start and carry the running load for 3 straight years and half of another one in the Big12 against good talent levels all the while never having an injury. Watch or look at the guy in person or on TV he may be 5'7 but he is freaking 180 of all muscle, and does not look small, he looks short but not small, not by a long shot. Plus if you cant catch him you cant hit him.

Let Sporting News rank him at #59. What did they rank Boldin last year. All it means is that we can grab another steal in the 2nd round.

.

If you get a chance to see their 2003 yearbook or whatever they call it on ESPN watch it. It's amazing to see what Ricky goes through play by play. AFter the 42 carry game against Buffalo the whole team was coming up to him in awe, couldn't believe how much punishment he dealt out and how many hits he took in that game apparently.

Wannstedt was going to use him up and discard him. He should have just worn a target on his uniform.

It is unfortunate that he plays for KState but I would rather root for the guy than see him rack up ridiculous yardage for someone else.

That dude with a change of pace big back would be awesome!!!!

I can vouch for the kid he is a nasty little bowling ball with hands. Now just imagine 6-4 340 lbs linemen trying to catch a greased bowling ball rolling right at them.. HE HE HE>
