There is no question that Milwaukee Bucks draft pick Yi Jianlian is a mystery.
His intentions are a mystery. Even his age is a mystery.

So it comes as no surprise that Yi was the winner when 44 of the 2007 National Basketball Association rookies were asked recently which rookie they knew the least about.

Yi got 16.3% of the vote, followed by Wilson Chandler of the New York Knicks and Adam Haluska of the New Orleans Hornets. Chandler is a forward from DePaul, and Haluska is a guard from Iowa.
Milwaukee Vincent's Carl Landry tied for fourth in the mystery category with 7% of the vote. Landry, a Purdue forward, was drafted by the Houston Rockets.

Wisconsin's Alando Tucker received two votes when the rookies were asked which one of them "is being most overlooked."

The winner in that category was Nick Young of the Washington Wizards, the guard/forward from Southern California.

Tucker received one vote when players were asked to predict the NBA rookie of the year in 2007-'08. Kevin Durant of the Seattle SuperSonics won this category with 53% of the vote, easily beating Greg Oden of the Portland Trail Blazers, the No. 1 overall pick, who got 11.6% of the vote.

Tucker also received a vote for "best playmaker" among the rookies. Former Ohio State guard Mike Conley of the Memphis Grizzlies won there with 45% of the vote.

The survey of the players was conducted during a photo shoot held at the New York Knicks' practice facility in Tarrytown, N.Y.

This is just... weird. I'm assuming there are 44 total votes and the writer is singling out Tucker because he got only 1 in a few of the categories? They must love their Wisconsin basketball players.

lol....almost worthless article.

one vote here and one vote there does not give ANYONE legit "consideration". almost like PJ Brown being a LEGIT MVP candidate by recieving ONE vote.

Marion was trying to get guys to vote for him for "most overlooked," but eventually someone convinced him that they were talking about only rookies.

You have to think that this must have been some Big Ten guys voting for each other, but hey, it's a slow news day. ;)

Unless Tucker proves he is overlooked and his rookie season has yet to come. Yes, I dreaming, but I'm thinking of the comparisons to Josh Howard made by Draftnet and thinking back on Michael Finley coming out of Wisconsin.

Well, at least it could happen. I'm not saying it's likely. :)

IMHO, Tucker's minutes will depend heavily on his outside shooting. If he had been a 40% for three guy his senior year, he'd have gone much much higher. Weber is supposed to be a good shooting instructor, so let's hope.

lets say Tucker does one thing this summer and one thing only:

practices 3's from the corner. i'm talking like at least a thousand shots from there every day (not as hard as you think if you have someone boarding for you).

lets say he gets to be like 45% from there, but subpar at best from anywhere else.

does he get regular playing time then? i mean, isn't that bruce bowen at that point (without the kicking and the violence of course)?

imo, if you can be an ace on defense, you'll get playing time, even as a rookie. all you need is one tiny skill on offense. whatever it is, driving, dishing, a sweet spot on the court, whatever. i think tucker will be very useful during the season, but won't be played much when its most important.

One vote for best playmaker - I'd give odds the voter confused him with Strawberry.

that probably is the most worthless reference to tucker i have ever seen... you wouldnt mention his name it would be like, and other recieving votes.... not the focus of the story.
