There is no question that Milwaukee Bucks draft pick Yi Jianlian is a mystery.
His intentions are a mystery. Even his age is a mystery.
So it comes as no surprise that Yi was the winner when 44 of the 2007 National Basketball Association rookies were asked recently which rookie they knew the least about.
Yi got 16.3% of the vote, followed by Wilson Chandler of the New York Knicks and Adam Haluska of the New Orleans Hornets. Chandler is a forward from DePaul, and Haluska is a guard from Iowa.
Milwaukee Vincent's Carl Landry tied for fourth in the mystery category with 7% of the vote. Landry, a Purdue forward, was drafted by the Houston Rockets.
Wisconsin's Alando Tucker received two votes when the rookies were asked which one of them "is being most overlooked."
The winner in that category was Nick Young of the Washington Wizards, the guard/forward from Southern California.
Tucker received one vote when players were asked to predict the NBA rookie of the year in 2007-'08. Kevin Durant of the Seattle SuperSonics won this category with 53% of the vote, easily beating Greg Oden of the Portland Trail Blazers, the No. 1 overall pick, who got 11.6% of the vote.
Tucker also received a vote for "best playmaker" among the rookies. Former Ohio State guard Mike Conley of the Memphis Grizzlies won there with 45% of the vote.
The survey of the players was conducted during a photo shoot held at the New York Knicks' practice facility in Tarrytown, N.Y.
