1. Monday pm - Anquan Boldin continues to be Superman and Freddie Jones is getting lots of action.

2. Monday afternoon practice was in shirts and shorts and had to be moved into the dome because of lightning. Lots of work on run plays. Larry Croom looks good and very fast. Marcel Shipp did well too.

3. On a long pass, Anquan did his usual, beat a double-team and turned a 20 yd play into 40 yds. McCown threw one beautiful bomb 63 yds, at least, but the slow backup WR (Romby Bryant, I think) couldn't quite reach it.

4. Tuesday morning, full pads, full hitting. Very spirited. The DTs Russell Davis, Wendell Bryant, and especially Kenny King are destroying the interior oline so badly that Denny Green took the deeper patterns out of this morning's scrimmage to preserve his QBs. He said the deep patterns would be put back in later in camp.

5. WR/KR Karl Williams had a bad day. Dropped pass and a dropped punt. Reggie Newhouse, Kasper, and Anquan are returning punts right now.

6. CB Robert Tate continues to make plays. We may have found a decent backup.

7. RB Larry Croom continues to impress. So too do Shipp and Scobey. In my eye, Croom looks the best after two days.

8. Russell Davis was yanked from 1st team DT for a while and Wendell Bryant inserted.

9. Kenny King is destroying our guards. In fact, the DEs are doing well too. Berry, Pace, KVB, and Dennis Johnson all are making plays. Haven't noticed Wakefield.

10. Denny Green is constantly bitching at and about the oline, saying they are way behind and still not aggressive enough.

11. This morning, four of our own scouts were all watching the secondary, taking notes. There may be a change in the works coming there.

12. WRs McAddley and Kasper are getting very few reps.

13. Denny Green and the Cards continue to make life difficult for the media. Few interviews, insulting answers, restricted field access.

14. Only one practice today. The afternoon session is classroom, weight lifting and special teams only. So there will be no report.

15. Nathan Poole came off the PUP and practiced. Levar Fisher is not ready, nor is Dexter Jackson, according to Denny Green. Eric Edwards hurt his back and was held out.

16. Lorenzo Diamond's mom's funeral has been moved back so he will practice a few days, then leave again.

17. I spent the morning with the DBs and LBs. The drills are exhausting, non-stop, then they scrimmage live. These full-pad morning sessions are brutal. Lots of dings with players getting up slowly. Frank Rush (lbs coach) and Clancy Pendergast explain everything in detail. They teach, then do. Richard Solomon (dbs coach) is faster paced, almost frantic.

18. C Frank Garcia was doing some long snaps on field goals. LS Hodel was there but didn't play.

Thanks for the info.

Couple of questions:

1) Is Big playing with the first or second team?

2) Is Josh Scobey getting his touches, and if so, how does he look?

Thanks for the report Skkorp, now I can talk to my family and get my "honeydews" done instead of accessing ASFN every 30 seconds!

Regarding point #4: If this continues, expect LJ to go back to LT and Davis move inside real soon.

OL always takes a little longer to work together hopefully it will level off in a few weeks.

1. When asked about LJ Shelton, Green had nice things to say but wouldn't get drawn into talking about whether LJ would be moved to another position or re-promoted.

2. Fitz was there but not used much and I was watching the defense.

3. Josh Scobey is getting lots of touches.

4. Shaun King continues to throw off-target wobble balls.

All Hail Quan! :notworthy

Where are all the Quan nay sayers who say he will never be able to match his rookie numbers. K9?????

I really don't like Quan returning punts. I was hoping that Williams would have a lock on punt returns.

It took him a long time to develop that special style and technique :D

Don't knock him. He provides experience. Years of experience throwing wobbling dead bird passes.

I was wondering if Croom could do it as well. I hope you're right.

All the time and effort is much appreciated.

I sure hope you are enjoying yourself...even though it is not "media" friendly.

Thanks again for all the hard work.
