INDIAN RIVER – The Inland Lakes Bulldogs and Onaway Cardinals saw several players secure nods on the all-Ski Valley Conference girls basketball team.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs were senior Brooklyn LaBrecque and junior Chloe Robinson, who made the first team. Both players were instrumental in the Bulldogs finishing second in the Ski Valley and winning a third consecutive Division 4 district championship.
NORTHERN SHORES GIRLS TEAM: Cheboygan's Rupp makes NSC basketball first team; Patrick, Ptasnik on second team
ST. IGNACE GIRLS FALL IN QUARTERS: St. Ignace topped by Ewen-Trout Creek in Division 4 girls basketball quarterfinal
NORTHERN SHORES BOYS: Cheboygan’s Carson Kiefer makes Northern Shores boys basketball first team
Joining those two on the Ski Valley’s first team were Onaway seniors Charlotte Box and Ema DeMaestri, who helped lift the Cardinals to a winning campaign.
Pellston senior Hailey Davis also made the Ski Valley first team.
Cheboygan-area basketball players that earned Ski Valley honorable mention recognition were Inland Lakes’ Elizabeth Furman and Mary Myshock, and Onaway’s Natalee Hyde and Marley Szymoniak.
East Jordan senior June Kirkpatrick was named the Ski Valley’s player of the year.
