Very sad day in the NHL, which has had too many sad days this summer.
Former Coyotes Brad McCrimmon and Igor Korolev (who also played briefly for the Roadrunners) were among the 43 killed along with almost the entire Lokomotiv Yaroslavl Russian league team. McCrimmon, who was the head coach for the Russian team, finished his career as a Coyote back in 1997 and won a Cup in 1989 with the Flames. Korolev, who was also one of the coaches, was one of the original Coyotes, playing in the 1996-1997 season. Totally stunning, a lot of other recent NHLers were on board, not to mention the other players and the flight crew. Right now, they're saying that two (one player and a flight engineer) have survived but are in pretty bad shape. Hopefully they will pull through.
