Didn't someone say that the only thing new is the history we don"t know. Well back in the 50's the NY Football Giants (who I believe were coached by Steve Owen) would start every game with Don Heinrich (I think) and after a series or two he would be replaced by Charlie Conolley(Sp?). Didn't create much controversy at the time. And I believe the system worked. And I don't know what the Rams did but they had Bob Waterfield and Norm Van Brocklin at the same time, but don't know if they played in the same game.

Early in Staubach's career, Tom Landry would go back & forth between Staubach & Craig Morton. He did it routinely in 1971 & the Cowboys made it all the way to the Super Bowl, but lost to the Colts. They eventually traded Morton to the Broncos & Morton took the Broncos to the Super Bowl (But they lost to Staubach & the Cowboys).

The Cardinals did it with Jake Plummer but I can't remember the other QB name.

What does it matter of it's new, or not?

The point is it seems to be working. Going up against two of the leagues top defenses, the Cards were kept in the game by going to 2 QB's.

There is the advantage of forcing DC's to come up with a more complicated game plan, and forcing opposing defensive players to prepare for two different QB's - not nearly as easy to gameplan. If they continue to be successful, just tell the media to ****, and keep racking up some wins.

Just because something is unconventional does not mean it cannot be a good thing.

Didn't Buddy Ryan do the two quarterback system? Actually it was about 4 or 5 quarterback system.

Schroeder, McMahon, and who knows who else

When Buddy Ryan was here, the only time I enjoyed watching the game was when our defense was on the field. That was the only time we had a chance to score points.:D

I'm very skeptical of something like this working in general but Warner may have the right mentality/demeanor to make it work. I'm still not sure if Leinart's actually speaking up or not but there is usually resistance to the idea by one of the qb's when it's tried.

The old Buffalo Bills of the old AFL with Jack Kemp, and "The Mad Bomber Darryl Lamonica. Jack would play the First half and the Bills would run Cookie Gilchrist (sp) down the throats of the other team, them Daryl would come in and Bombs away. They won the 1964 and/or 1965 AFL Championship. Their coach was Lou Sabin (sp). Oakland also did this with Kenny Stabler and the old Field goal Kicker (forgot his name) who was a good QB in his day when Ken was just starting out.

I think that John Madden was the coach in those day's.

Let me nitpick about your memory there. Staubach was not inserted into the offense until 1971 when Landry went to the rotating method for the first seven games of that year. For those seven games, the Cowboys went 4-3. Landry then realized the alternating quarterback system was not working and switched to Staubach full time. They won the remaining 10 games (including the Super Bowl).

Nitpicking again: the Cowboys traded Craig Morton to the New York Giants in 1974. I seem to recall that his first game as a Giant was against Dallas. After the '76 season, New York knew they had a winner in Joe Pisarcik and sent Morton packing to Denver where he led the Broncos to a Super Bowl (anyone know whatever happened to Joe Pisarcik? :sarcasm:).

This, of course, has no impact on the 2007 Arizona Cardinals. I like this environment for Warner and Leinart, and I see good things ahead, but then, I'm predicting a 16-0, I mean a 15-1, no I mean a 14-2 season!
