I wonder how those Rams defenses managed to do so well in 1999 and 2001 when their offense would score in like 3 plays sending the D right back on to the field.
When you get ahead that fast teams begin to get aggressive. They were built with speedy, small players that forced turnovers when they knew you HAD to pass.
ANd if you don't think Defenses tire, replay New England's 4th quarter front 7. They needed oxygen and IVs.
