The draft will be completed. I just thought i'd save evryone the trouble of waiting and watching and let you know exactly how the first round is going to unfold and who the Cards will take. So,like i said you won't even need to watch :D . I have 1 trade that i think will happen.
Round 1:

OAKLAND-they'll toy with the thought of Calvin Johnson,Brady Quinn,Joe Thomas and even Adrian Peterson but,in the end, they'll go with boom/bust project JaMarcus Russell.
ATLANTA-i think they are going to overpay Detroit to move up to #2. THey are not that far away and Arthur Blank is the type of owner that will go for it. They get hometown hero Calvin Jonson.
CLEVELAND-there will be alot of debate over who to grab here between Peterson and Quinn. Phil Savage opts to appease the fan base and goes with the Ohio boy,Brady Quinn.
TAMPA BAY-Gruden really wanted CJ but knows that a great OT is hard to find and goes with the best and safest pick early in the draft in Joe Thomas.
ARIZONA-how can you go wrong with Adrian Peterson, Laron Landry, and Gaines Adams to choose from? By tabbing Levi Brown as your pick, that's how. However, this time the Cards get it right and take the franchise RB to add the missing element to the offense in Adrian Peterson.
WASHINGTON-The Redskins want to trade but they won't find any takers since the QB's,CJ, and AP are all off the board. They get a nice consolation prize in Laron Landry to pair him with Sean Taylor forming the best young safety tandem in the league.
MINNESOTA-the talent in this draft falls off after one more player. It just so happens that is a player that fills a huge need for the Vikings in pass rusher extrordinaire Gaines Adams.
DETROIT-Matt Millen will get criticized again because he went down too far for the "impact" players. But he does get a nice haul of draft picks from Atlanta to make up for it.With this pick they start to build up their OL and nab Levi Brown.
MIAMI-they wanted a QB or an OT.Both are gone so they look to the defensive side of the ball.Zach Thomas isn't getting any younger but instead of Patrick Willis, they go with CB help and take Leon Hall from Michigan.
HOUSTON-they desperatley need help on both sides of the ball. Ted Ginn is an intriguing pick here for a deep threat to pair with Andre Johnson. Instead they go with a young interior phenom for the DL and take Amobi Okoye.
SAN FRANCISCO-the forty niners have a nice problem. They can go with a replacement for aging Bryant Young or fill a need at LB. I think they go with the DT and select Alan Branch.
BUFFALO-they have alot of directions they could go in.They have needs everywhere. They just let Takeo Spikes walk so they get his replacement in tackling machine Patrick Willis.
ST.LOUIS-The Rams sent their entire staff to Columbus to watch Ted Ginn jr. workout. Isaac Bruce isn't going to be around forever and they lost Kevin Curtis.Ted Ginn jr joins the Greatest show on turf.
CAROLINA-can anyone name a TE on the Panthers roster? They think long and hard about Jamaal Anderson still sitting there but decide to give Delhomme another receiving threat with TE Greg Olsen.
PITTSBURGH-Mike Tomlin likes the 4-3 defense and the Steelers set a speed record for getting a name to the podium. That name is Jamaal Anderson.
GREEN BAY-the Packers had Ted Ginn and Greg Olsen targeted for their pick. Both are gone so they have to decide between Marshawn Lynch and Dwayne Bowe.I think, for no apparent reason, Lynch may be this years slider and the Pack gets Brett Favre another playmaker with Dwayne Bowe.
JACKSONVILLE-here's where it really starts to become a crap shoot. The Jaguars are pretty stout defensively but could always use another pass rusher. I think they'll look to improve their pass rush and go with DE Adam Carriker.
CINCINNATI-after failing in an attempt to pry Pacman Jones from the Titans:D , the Bengals look fill some other needs.LB is a key area of need and so is the OL with the loss of Eric Steinbach and the retirement of Rich Braham. But,Marvin Lewis can't pass on the playmaking ability of Reggie Nelson.
TENNESSEE-The Titans need to get Vince Young some weapons in the passing game.RB is also a need since it looks like Lendale White wants to eat himself into an OG. Vince Young,Norm Chow, and Jeff Fisher all have gotten an upclose look at Dwayne Jarrett and like what they see. That's who they go with.
NEW YORK GIANTS- Tiki Barber retiring puts a damper on the offense. They need help on the OL. Their picks comes down to either Joe Staley or Justin Blalock.Tackles have more value so they go with Staley.
DENVER-The way they've been picking up players it's hard to find many weaknesses. They just released Al Wilson so there is a need at LB.Safety is also an area on need. They end up opting for playmaker Brandon Merriweather.
DALLAS-Wade Phillips is a defensive coach and the Cowboys have addressed their OL problems through free agency. They are tempted to take LB Paul Posluszny but CB Chris Houston, from Jerry Jones alam mater, is too good to pass up.
KANSAS CITY-The Chiefs desperately need some speed at WR to stretch the defense. The best WR prospect left on the board is Robert Meachum so he's who they go with.
NEW ENGLAND-The Pats need some help at CB and that's even if Asante Samuel doesn't hold out. Posluszny also seems to fit their mold but they can get him with their second 1st rounder. Here the choice is CB Darrelle Revis.
NEW YORK JETS-Last year the Jets starting buliding their OL with the choices of Mangold and Ferguson. This year they continue the process and get another building block in Justin Blalock.
PHILADELPHIA-The Eagles need help on the defensive side of the ball. They could also use some fresh legs at RB as Westbrook has durability concerns and Buckhalter has had numerous injuries.Andy Reid can't resist the value and the pick is Marshawn Lynch.
NEW ORLEANS-They are set on the offensive side of the ball everywhere but TE but none are worthy of being selected this high. They look to the defensive side of the ball and go with CB Aaron Ross from Texas.
NEW ENGLAND-Their plan works out perfectly, as it always seems to, and they grab Paul Posluszny with this pick.
BALTIMORE-They need some help along the offensive line. They were hoping Joe Staley or Justin Blalock would be available but instead they get a true leader and a guy who can probably start from day 1 in C Ryan Kalil.
SAN DIEGO-Probably the best all around team in the league when it comes to talent. The coaching will be the issue this year. They could use a WR and some interior OL help. There aren't any WR's that have 1st round value left so they are go with the best player left on the board and grab Lawrence Timmons to play opposite of Merriman.
CHICAGO-Well we know the Bears are pretty stout on the defensive side of the ball. They are also pretty much set at every position and can go with BPA. Rueben Brown is about done so they get a guy to groom to take over in the near future in Ben Grubbs.
INDIANAPOLIS-The Colts were awful against the run last year.Tony Dungy always seems to have very good DT's and he adds another one in Tennessee's Justin Harrell.

There you have the first round. It didn't go the way the Cards hoped with some of the lesser rated OL going off the board in Blalock, Staley, Grubbs, and Kalil. But here's what the Cards are looking at the rest of the draft.

ROUND 2(38th pick)- They go with first round talent Charles Johnson at the DE position.Tony Ugoh is possible but i think it may be too early for him. Johnson is the much better prospect.
ROUND 3(69th pick)-They are looking for OL help but they get another piece of the puzzle to switch over to the 3-4 and take David Harris ILB from Michigan. Then they can move Dansby back to the outside.
ROUND 4(105th pick)- They're hoping Doug Free is available here but if he isn't the ND tackle Ryan Harris should be.Ryan Harris it is.
ROUND 5(142nd pick)-the Cards are desperate for TE here. It would be nice if Matt Spaeth was around but that's not likely so they go with Scott Chandler from Iowa.
ROUND 7(215th pick)-they go with John Abbatte another LB.He's just the kind of guy you want on your team.He would be great value in round 7.

Houston going Dline 2 years in a row with their first pick .. ??

And the Jets adding Blalock to their Oline would really have a young and talented foundation to build their offense on ..

Sorry man.... I just cannot envision a scenario that doesn't have us addressing the OL atleast once in our first two picks. Waiting until the 4th round is almost like slapping us as fans in the face.

Thanks for the write up though.

If the top 5 stays put I see:

OAK - Calvin Johnson
DET - Gaines Adams
CLE - Jamarcus Russell
TB - Amobi Okoye
ARI - Joe Thomas

Maybe I am just hoping that Thomas falls. But Tampa Bay drafted T Jeremy Trueblood in the second round last year and just signed LT Luke Petitgout from the Giants. So I cant see them drafting a tackle that high.

I'd be suprised to see Chandler as a pick. He's more of a giant slot reciever than a blocking TE, which is what I'm assuming the new staff is shooting for.

Just A Question

.....on Charles Johnson. What type of a DE is he? A 3-4 or a 4-3? And if a 4-3 is he a RDE or an LDE? Just wondering. Thanks.

Interesting, I will give it that. I only have a few issues, but I will get to them after the positives.

Things I liked:

Atlanta/Detroit trade- I like it, good call. Atlanta gets the star power they need to help Vick, maybe with him they can get over that .500 hump they have been stuck on. Detroit did what a crappy team must do to improve: stockpile picks. They also came away will a great building block for the future in Brown. But I am curious as to what you think the Falcons would have to give up.

Arizona-I love the pick, but AP is NOT the missing piece. Joe Thomas and Levi Brown are, AP is just better. It is OK to be honest.

Cincinatti- Nelson would really improve their secondary, especially in the deep ball department, where they were routinely torched last year.

Tennessee- While I doubt he falls to this spot, Jarrett would be a big help to V Young.

Giants- Not a whole lot to say other than I like the pick.

Jets- You are the first person I have seen with this scenario, great call.

Things I dont like:

Green Bay- I dont see them passing on an available Marshawn Lynch.

Denver- They have all but forced themselves to take either a LB or DL

New England- Secondary yes, CB no. Safety is the pick IMO.

Indy- I know every mock on the face of the earth has this pick, but I seriously doubt Harrell is available here.

THERE IS NO WAY ON EARTH WE GO THE ENTIRE DRAFT LET ALONE THE FIRST DAY WITHOUT TAKING ATLEAST ONE OFFENSIVE LINEMAN. NNNNNOOOOOOOO WWWWWAAAAAYYYYYYY

Good stuff!

Although I’m inclined to believe that Adrian will not be there for us, and so… I go with my second choice L. Brown.

Note: the review I’m using (PFW) ranks D. Harris, higher than you do, and Abiamiri above you DE choice. Hughes is given a third round evaluation.

1. Levi Brown (Tackle).

2. David Harris (LB) (or) Victor Abiamiri (DE)

3. Daymeion Hughes (CB) (or) Ben Patrick (TE)

4. Matt Speath (TE) (or) Jay Moore (DE)

5. Manuel Ramirez (G) (or) Kareem Brown (DT)

7. Mike Jones (G) (or) Jon Abbate (LB

Two weeks from now.....

I will be riding high after freebasing on NFL and Cardinal draft coverage for two solid days, and looking forward to at least two or three solid days of Cardinal talk on sports radio....

after that, I get some post draft grades ...... and then its practically cold turkey until late July

I like that draft as well. I just can't get myself to like the Levi Brown pick at 5.

Ya know.....I can live with Brown at 5.

Abiamiri over Harris in Round 2.

Hughes over Patrick in Round 3.

Spaeth over Moore in Round 4.

Jones over Abbate in Round 7.

Yeah...I know....round 5.....Quincy Black....6'2"-230 LB....New Mexico.....has good body control and balance....moves toward the ball quickly and has a tendency to to recover fumbles and intercept passes....covers TE's and RB's well man to man....nice East-West game....a tad undersized.

Petitgout is 31 and coming off a broken leg

maybe it's because Levi isn't a top 5 talent?

It would be cool if Amobi Okoye slipped to us at #5.
