I hope the Suns did not give up a lot but if they trade Anderson it might cost them the Bucks pick because of his salary.

Man I don’t understand this move if it occurs. Particularly if it hamstrings our offseason.

I mean it turns Anderson who is worth nothing into a contributing player - but this speaks very loudly about what they think they can do in free agency to me.

This is awful. Johnson isn’t even a PG, he plays the same position as our best player.

Extremely injury prone too.

James Jones is a dumb***.

Why? Anderson is a better contract than Johnson. If anything, the Heat should be paying us a first round pick.

He’s a shooting guard, not a PG.

Has to be Anderson.

Well, he is a combo guard. He can dribble the ball fine. I've seen him and Dragic play together, and they shared PG duties. He is NOT a bad fit, but I don't get why we'd take on his salary.

This is one of the times I agree with BC. Tyler Johnson isn’t even a PG, why are the Suns so hellbent on trying to force players to play different positions?

I’d easily have taken the cap spacing (~$4-$5M) over this.

He's a HORRIBLE fit. He's Melton without the defense or Okobo without the passing or athleticism. A less athletic version or Troy Daniels, only he ties up $20 million in salary cap space for 2 seasons.

We're screwed.

Only thing I can think of is if Sarver didn't want to go the buyout route next summer, might as well get a player with similar $$$ that can actually play.

The puzzler is Johnson has a player option next season for $19,245,370.

I’ll remain optimistic that this is a positive. If the front office thinks he’s the long term solution I think they’re sorely mistaken. If he engenders better play of others maybe it’s worthwhile. It’s late enough in the season that even if he makes a positive impact I don’t think it’ll be enough to impact our lottery odds overly much.

Except Johnson can't, especially at any position of need.

At best this could be an Oubre-impact acquisition. At least he can play. Just don't know where his minutes are going to come from. Does this mean we are almost certainly trading Troy Daniels?

Yep, my theory is that Sarver didn't want to go the buyout route on Anderson.

This would make it a good trade because Johnson can help the Suns now and into the future.

Historically he makes his teammates worse when played out of position at the point. Think Mike James only without shooting ability.

How? By chucking up a bunch of bricks from 30 feet out, turning the ball over almost as much as he assists and being a sieve on defense?
