Gotta love Scott Skiles--he benched Chandler for the entire game for wearing his shorts too low.

"My intention was to play (Tyson Chandler) quite a bit (Wednesday night against Detroit)," Skiles said before the loss. "But when he checked in the game, he didn't have proper uniform appearance.

"He had his black tights and shorts way down, so I took him right back out and made it clear that wasn't acceptable. It's a shame that we have to police that. But it is what it is."

Asked if he thought the benching was fair, Chandler smiled.

"Life isn't fair," he said. "I show up for practice. I do everything I'm supposed to do. I can't sit in here and try to figure out what his mind was doing. If I do that, my mind will go crazy."

A tight-lipped Skiles said Chandler isn't in any doghouse.

"I just decided not to go with him," Skiles said.

Chandler's on the trading block this offseason IIRC...

Heck if the Bulls need a backup PG for Hinrich if Crawford walks.

I'd take Chandler for our pick and Eisley.

Heh, add Chandler and McGrady, and the Suns can have the all-back-problems team.

Serious enough to have kept him out of a bunch of games last season and one third to one half of this season... so far.

Chandler has one more year guarenteed on his contract for $4.8 million with a qualifying offer of $6.2 million the following year.

Eisley has two years guarenteed at $6.4 million next year and $6.9 million the following year.

Since both teams would be under the cap, the Suns could offer Eisley and a pick for Chander, which would only clear $1.4 million in the first season but clear $6.9 in 2005-06.

Using this year's first fournd pick unless #1 or #2 might make sense for the Suns if they are seriously planning to go after Kobe and cannot or will not move White.

By not using the pick, the Suns clear $2 million off cap to go with the extra $1.4 million from moving Eisley. This leaves $14.5 million in cap space.

From Chicago's perspective, they unload a player they doubt will remain healthy for a prime draft pick and guard to replace Crawford.

I'm not sure if I like this deal, but less plausible deals have been made this year. The irony is the worse Chandler's condition, the more sense the deal makes.
