It appears that UA lost their appeal, and will lose 6 football scholies for next year's recruiting class...Will Stoops continue to recruit academic risks?

It is true. Arizona lost a certain amount of scholarships based upon their graduating percentage. Both football and baseball were affected, but football was the only one which appealed. This isn't so much of Stoop's fault as it was Mac's fault because he had so many players transfer and thus the graduation rate went down. In addition, the reason baseball was punished was because of the huge amount of players that signed MLB contracts and, therefore, did not graduate (see Crowe, Meloan, Brown, Hundley, etc).

Actually, the rule is that a player/student must leave school under good academic standing, so that the institution doesn't lose any scholies...Which shows why the ua basketball team didn't lose any scholies...apparently the kids in the football program weren't on pace to graduate within 5 years...And the kids in the baseball program weren't on pace to graduate within 5 years...Contrast that with ASU's baseball program! They lost more players to MLB, but those players were on pace to graduate...so ASU didn't get penalized.
