I don't really agree with this. A win over UCLA isn't supposed to hurt your RPI. Memphis was supposed to be a final four contender this year. Our SOS is 101 so far.

And you're missing the point - I never said the committee looks at quality wins vs quality losses.

UCLA's RPI is bad right now but it won't be in the upper 200's at the end of the year. It won't hurt come March although it won't help either. Memphis will probably only lose 3-5 games too so they'll be a top 100 neutral win as well which helps.
