They open tonight with Portland State. Shipp is going to start, he's got a thumb injury on his shooting hand but they say he'll be OK he practiced yesterday. Collison won't play in fact he may miss the first 3 games and first play the 11-28 game against George Washington. He's still got no swelling, the knee has been a bit sore and they're apparently just being really cautious since he's so vital to the team. They figure they can beat Portland State, Youngstown State and Yale with Westbrook at PG, and if they can't, they're nowhere near as good as they think they are anyways.

Roll is of course out for a few more weeks. Sounds like Keefe just started limited practice but probably is 3-4 weeks away from being cleared to play.

Looks like tonight's starting lineup is Love, Westbrook, Shipp, Luc and Aboya or Mata-Real.

Argh, Collison is out at least another 10 days now. howland said he might play 11-28 against GW but more likely 12-2 against Texas. So he won't play against Maryland on Monday.

Still has some soreness in the knee so they're being cautious.

Starting to get nervous this knee is lingering.

I wonder if Howland is playing this even more cautiously because of the decent play at PG by Westbrook. No need to rush Collison back when Westbrook is doing a pretty good job running the team?? Also allows guys like Dragovic Abdul-Hamid(sp) to continue getting quality PT.

Can't wait to see this team play better competition.
