LaVar Ball’s JBA league debuted on Thursday — during the NBA draft — and the league’s poor attendance had LaVar trying to defend his hastily created alternative to the NCAA. But the JBA’s issues extend beyond comically poor attendance: The actual basketball is difficult to watch. The league’s poor style of play could be summed up in one 39-second video. Everything that happened in that video was an affront to professional basketball. First, we see LaMelo Ball easily allow the ballhandler to drive by him, which was followed by a blocked shot. Then, there was a missed breakaway layup. When New York regained possession, there was no movement. There were no offensive sets or any semblance of organization.
