Not only are the Tar Heels No. 1 in The Associated Press' preseason Top 25, they are the first unanimous No. 1 since the preseason poll began in 1981-82. North Carolina has the top six scorers -- including national player of the year Tyler Hansbrough -- back from a team that had a school-record 36 wins and...

The amazing thing with UNC is that they were going to lose Ty Lawson to the NBA until he got busted for drinking (apparently he was charged with drinking in public not dui). Lawson had a first round guarantee and shut down his workouts but after getting arrested his stock fell and he had to come back to UNC. That one thing makes UNC the team to beat, without him they'd still be good but not consensus #1.

Weird how things work out sometimes.

UNC is loaded, Hansbrough apparently has a stress reaction on one leg but they expect him to be able to play.

Weird for me to see this. My two schools, ASU and Notre Dame are football schools and they both suck in football right now.

So they are both ranked in basketball. This is evidence of massive climate change. ASU has a huge upside. Not so the Irish.

Go Devils.
