14-10 UofA right now in the 2nd quarter after a Zendejas blocked field goal :bang:

Looks to me that we were looking ahead to Iowa. I hate these trap games.

One of these days NAU is going to sneak up and beat ASU or UA, I wish ABOR didnt force the big schools to play them. But ABOR is and always has been run by a bunch of stupid, backwards, mouth breathing fools, so its no surprise they made another idiotic decision.

Not likely unless NAU considerably upgrades their program or ASU/UA take a complete dive. Arizona handled NAU pretty well even with Mackovic players. Those 20 more scholarships make a huge difference.

Basketball's a whole other story.

App State vs Michigan
William & Mary vs UVA
UNI vs Iowa (almost)

theres a lot of examples which Im far too lazy to look up of D2 schools beating D1 schools on the road. Its not likely, but if NAU catches ASU or UA in a down year while theyre in an up year, it could happen.Id never bet on it to happen but NAU has played both schools respectably at least in recent years/

Forcing the two big schools to lay NAU is a lose-lose for them. Its punishing 2 schools for the benefit of one, but ABOR has a long history of that.

Basketball's a whole other story.

Sadly I know this. I was at the game in Sendeks first year where NAU beat ASU at WFA. Bleck!

App State and Northern Iowa are upper-echelon FCS teams which NAU isn't. But I suppose anything is possible, definitely would have to be a perfect storm of Sun Devil or Wildcat ineptitude and NAU having a good year.

As far as the game goes, it looks like Arizona will have a QB controversy on it's hands.

I didnt see the game since it wasn't on TV, why did Foles come in? Did Scott get hurt? Or was he just playing poorly and Stoops decided to switch it up?

That had been the plan all along.

I think I like Foles from what I have heard. We have all the running we need with Grigsby and Antonlin IMO.

Same reason Erickson gave Osweiler some burn - you want your backup to have some game experience just in case. I'm just not sure Scott is a better QB than Foles right now especially when already have a good running game.

I also think Foles would be starting at ASU right now if Erickson didn't ignore him in favor of Scakscy and Stangel.

Why shouldn't UofA, or ASU, if they are going to play a FCS team, play NAU?

If they don't want to play NAU, they simply don't schedule a FCS team.

Why should UofA or ASU pay $400K guarantee to Southern Utah instead of NAU? Win/win for all parties - the money stays in state.

And the mouth breathing fools are the ones that listened to cry-baby Lute and stopped the home and home basketball series. NAU plays at the same level in all other sports.

^Who said anything about UA/ASU playing other FCS teams? They shouldn't be playing FCS teams at all, its a lose-lose situation for them and they ought not be doing it.

Are we on this again? Those mouth-breathing fools at the ABOR don't need to justify or accommodate anything to NAU which adds nothing to the local sports culture. Lute finally woke those clowns up, now the revenue-producers don't have to risk the lose-lose scenario of playing the Lumberjacks in Flagstaff.
