What a sweet, lovely movie. Very enjoyable, and the 3-D was nice, and fairly unobtrusive -- not blatant and gimmicky.
Just a fantastic movie! Good all the way around. Funny, Charming and heartfelt!
MUCH MUCH MUCH better than their last 2 lackluster releases Ratatouille in 2007 & WALL-E in 2008. Good to see they are back to making the kind of movies they used to make.
Probably so.I was so looking forward to this movie--I really wanted to see it in the theater. When we saw it was available on Netflix, I set aside a Saturday afternoon w/DCR to watch it. We got interrupted 3/4 of the way through, and didn't finish. I didn't care. I was grateful for the interruption. Such a freaking boring movie.
I think I am rapidly becoming a scrooge.
Probably so.
But I had no interest in this cartoon either.
You have stopped liking any movies. :godfather: :afghanstar:
I don't know if my expectations were just set too high, or what. People love. People lose their loves. It doesn't give you the right to be an *****.
I DID like Afghan Star--I wanted more, dammit! You have stopped liking any movies. :godfather: :afghanstar:

Next time you are in Chicago, be prepared to watch Godfather again!I DID like Afghan Star--I wanted more, dammit!
Sigh.
Godfather did suck, though. I want my 3 hours back.
I also didn't like Transformers 3 much.
LOVED Bridesmaids, though!
I knew it was coming--we all knew it was coming. So what? I have to sit through an hour & a half of him being a jerk just to have him redeem himself? I don't find that entertaining. So you missed out on the character redemption that took place.
DCR did not disagree with my assessment.
I think I am rapidly becoming a scrooge.
Up was awesome.
Up was awesome.
Linda, you'd think being a curmudgeon you'd be able to relate to the main character. Hell, if you read all of your posts in in this thread with an Ed Asner voice, it'd fit!
I had read your earlier post before I saw the movie--and actually thought of you watching it. I can see how it would have been so very hard for you.I saw that movie 1 month after losing my wife. Maudlin or not, it was almost unbearable for me to watch the first 5 minutes. Loved the movie.
