What a sweet, lovely movie. Very enjoyable, and the 3-D was nice, and fairly unobtrusive -- not blatant and gimmicky.

I saw the previews for up about a year ago and thought to myself, "wow that looks like a flop". Shame on me for doubting Pixar!

First time I ever shed a tear at an animated movie. Pixar does it again! Amazing story and character developement. Totally original.

Can't wait to add this to my blu-ray collection!

Finally watched this movie. Pixar just makes amazing movies.

This was a great, great movie...the montage at the start drew you so deep into the two characters lives, love and loss in 10 minutes, when most movies can't get you that emotionally invested in 2 hours.

Dug was my favorite character, so funny. Perfect blend of heart and humor.

Winner, yet again, Pixar.

Just a fantastic movie! Good all the way around. Funny, Charming and heartfelt!

MUCH MUCH MUCH better than their last 2 lackluster releases Ratatouille in 2007 & WALL-E in 2008. Good to see they are back to making the kind of movies they used to make.

I recently watched it. I liked it about as much as I can like an animated movie. Right up there with Ratatouille. Agree that it was much much better than Wall-E.

I was so looking forward to this movie--I really wanted to see it in the theater. When we saw it was available on Netflix, I set aside a Saturday afternoon w/DCR to watch it. We got interrupted 3/4 of the way through, and didn't finish. I didn't care. I was grateful for the interruption. Such a freaking boring movie.

I think I am rapidly becoming a scrooge.

Probably so.

But I had no interest in this cartoon either.

I don't know if my expectations were just set too high, or what. People love. People lose their loves. It doesn't give you the right to be an *****.

I DID like Afghan Star--I wanted more, dammit!

Sigh.

Godfather did suck, though. I want my 3 hours back.

I also didn't like Transformers 3 much.

LOVED Bridesmaids, though!

So you missed out on the character redemption that took place.

Next time you are in Chicago, be prepared to watch Godfather again!

I knew it was coming--we all knew it was coming. So what? I have to sit through an hour & a half of him being a jerk just to have him redeem himself? I don't find that entertaining.

I may have even gotten to that part (ish). It was just lame. DCR did not disagree with my assessment.

Up was awesome.

Linda, you'd think being a curmudgeon you'd be able to relate to the main character. Hell, if you read all of your posts in in this thread with an Ed Asner voice, it'd fit!

I saw that movie 1 month after losing my wife. Maudlin or not, it was almost unbearable for me to watch the first 5 minutes. Loved the movie.

I had read your earlier post before I saw the movie--and actually thought of you watching it. I can see how it would have been so very hard for you.

But you are the prime example of what I'm referring to. You lost your wife tragically--and have not let it destroy your life.

Rivercard--Married life is great--that's what I think is so funny...I've never been happier, yet I keep finding movies utter drivel.

Pariah--I'm really not a curmudgeon, dammit! I was kidding!! :p
