I don't understand the line of thinking here. I could go on and on about why signing him would be a smart move, examples: young, cannon arm, potential, etc. But the thing that it boils down too, the thing that is ALWAYS the deciding factor: MONEY.

Hoyer is on the books for $2M dollars this season. If the Cardinals can sign JaMarcus for league minimum, then not only does Hoyers $2M come off the books (cut or trade), but JaMarcus salary wouldn't count against the CAP because he wouldn't have a salary that is top 51. That in turn gives the Cardinals $2M more dollars in CAP room. I don't see a negative thing here other than the possibility that he fails. But how many 3rd string QB's really have a high chance of success?

Not top 51, but all salaries have to accounted for under the CAP going into game one of the season.

Maybe in the 3 short months BA has been here he has had 6 QBs on the roster with 4 still on the roster..
But only 2 of those 6 are his choices right? Carson and Stanton. I said at the beginning of the offseason that the only QB who even has a chance at seeing any more time in a Cardinals jersey is Lindley, and I still don't think his chances are very good.

Hoyer was resigned because he was the ultimate backup plan for a backup QB. If we could only get Stanton, Hoyer would be #2 QB. But now that the Cardinals have Palmer, Stanton becomes #2 and Hoyer becomes irrelivant. I do not believe Hoyer will be here to make $2M. Just my opinion, but I can't see it happening.

Lindley on the other hand is a sophmore player. If Keim was all about picking him, I do not see us taking a QB this year in the draft. If Lindley was not one of Keims guys, he will be replaced as well with either a draft pick or another FA player.

He has decided that BA and his staff arent worht their salt and we are doomed forever and everything we do is being spun into proof that they suck.

Jamarcus Russell?

Just read that the Cards are "very interested" in Jamarcus Russell. I'd post the link to SB Nation, but I am noob with only 3 posts.

Now THIS should be a fun thread to follow... ready set discuss!

I'm going to chalk this one up to the fact that we HAVE to expect an occasional "senior moment" from BA...

Edit: Nevermind. Article was from 4 hours ago. There is another one that is from 3 hours ago stating there is "zero interest".

Thankfully, it would appear the senior moments are fleeting...

since you only have 3 posts I will simply say, check other topics before creating one. This has already been discussed at length and then proven false.

Happy posting.

After grabbing Stanton and Palmer, I don't think we need to take any risks on a QB. Only ones I'd pick up is if we somehow get a top shelf QB dropped in our laps. Otherwise, I think we're as good as we're gonna get for the QB situation
