The Philadelphia 76ers are currently riding an 8-game losing streak following a 127-109 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night. The loss dropped them to 23-52 on the season and helped them inch a bit closer to keeping their top 6 protected pick for when the lottery rolls around on May 12.
As the Sixers head into the final seven games of the season, the focus is on being in the best position to keep their pick. Therefore, there will be a lot of losses and out-of-town scoreboard watching, specifically for the New Orleans Pelicans and the Brooklyn Nets. While the Sixers fell to the Raptors, the Pelicans picked up a big win for the Sixers when they knocked off the Charlotte Hornets 98-94 at home.
Here is an updated look at the lottery standings heading into the final day of March:
30. Utah Jazz 16-59 --GB
29. Washington Wizards 16-58 .5 GB
28. Charlotte Hornets 18-56 2.5 GB
27. New Orleans Pelicans 21-54 5 GB
26. Philadelphia 76ers 23-52 7 GB (fifth-worst record in the league)
25. Brooklyn Nets 24-51 8 GB
24. Toronto Raptors 28-47 12 GB
