The 2025 NFL draft is just under a month away. The Arizona Cardinals have the 16th pick in the draft and the belief is that they will most likely select either an edge defender or an interior defensive lineman. They have upgraded at both positions in free agency, but that doesn't mean they are done. They could also go with a linebacker sometime early in the draft as well, as that position has some uncertainty.
So as the draft approaches, while Cardinals fans will pay special attention to the defensive linemen and edge guys, linebacker is worth paying attention to.
Draft Wire's Curt Popejoy updated his defensive prospect rankings recently.
Who are his top five linebackers?
Including Walker in this group might be misplaced. While has played linebacker, he is a hybrid linebacker and edge defender. In terms of draft value, most view him first as an edge defender. Whoever drafts him is not likely playing him off the ball much. He could go as high as the top 10.
Campbell is the best true off-ball player, but his placement in the draft varies widely. Some have him going in the first half of the first round and others have him dropping to the second round.
Knight, Paul and Bassa are all viewed as Day 2 players.
