When is Upton coming back? and who do you think will be demoted... my vote goes for Burke.

Will we see Scherzer again this season? I know he was inconsistent, but I am not sold on Petit.

When is Parker goign to get promoted to AA or AAA?

He still hasn't taken batting practice on the field, he will hopefully be back in about a week or so. Burke seems like the odd man out.

Maybe. Pretty much everybody in the Diamondback front office said that they were going to watch Scherzer's innings pitched very carefully this season, but its hard to keep good pitching down.

He's 19, in low A ball, and in his first pro season, so he's another guy who's innings they want to keep down. I'd be surprised if he skips High A for AA or above.

Just to add on....

* An MRI on Uptons oblique was negative and Melvin wants him taking BP with the team the next couple days before he starts his rehab assignment

* Scherzer threw 50 pitches his last outing and Byrnes said they'll have him throw 15 more pitches in each outing tillhe gets to 100. He should be up within a month and I'd expect the #5 slot to be his for the taking at that time

* When Upton comes back, I hope Melvin puts Romero in CF and benches Young. Sure, Young had a nice night tonight but somone needs to send him a clear message that no one's position is guaranteed. Same can be said for Upton but if Young doesn't pick it up, he can take a seat on the bench for all I care.

* We won't see Parker for at least a year, probably longer. Obvioulsy depends on his development and if we resign RJ or not. We also have to remember he's fresh off TJ surgery so he's still getting his strength back

I say Parker isn't up for two-three years. Probably leaning towards two. Anyways, I agree that Young might need to sit if he isn't producing when Upton comes back. Obivously whoever is playing best needs to be playing and I hope Melvin doesn't mess that up.

parker is dominating in A ball right now...

upton is in a little better situation offensively than young. although he wasn't driving in runs, he has the 5th best OBP. i like the romero idea though.

For the past few series, Bob Melvin has started acting like a Manager. Batting players at their best position in the batting order. Drew-leadoff. Hudson-2nd. Jackson-3rd. Tracy-cleanup. Reynolds-5th. A few stolen bases. Some hit-and-run.

Whether it's Young or Upton, it's not a question of whether "one's position is guaranteed". These are conscientious guys.

And the only leadership they seem to be getting (finally) is from Tony Clark.
