C'mon, WC. Marinelli's a defensive HC who has never even been a DC, much less know anything about offensive personnel. Martz hasn't talked to reporters in quite some time, and part of Marinelli's job is to step in front of the microphone and answer questions. Martz converted Furrey into a WR from a QB (I think). It's a pretty good guess that it's not Marinelli's doghouse that Mike Williams is in.

BTW - I was watching the Detroit game on Sunday. McCown looked horrible out there.

Mike Furrey started out at:

Actually Furrey was has always been a WR. He walked on at OSU, then transerred to Northen Iowa and was a pretty prolific player for them. I think he then played in the Arena league before ,surpisingly, making the Rams roster. And his career has really taken off. It's a good strory for the little guy because he's about 5'6 and weighs about 170 pounds. He went to high school in Hilliard, Ohio which is a Columbus suburb not known for producing any high caliber athletes. Actually, Hilliard Davidson High school won the Division 1(big school) state football championship this year in a kind of Hoosiers story. They are basically a team full of "Rudy's". Their LB's are about 5'8 160 pounds yet went in and beat a Cincinnati Colerain team that is loaded with players that go to big schools like OSU and Michigan( a side note: the division also contains Cleveland Glenville which produces athletes like Ted Ginn,Troy Smith , and Donte Whitner seemingly every year) in the semis. In the finals, their HC went for 2 in overtime to win the state title game.Pretty amazing task they accomplished over there.
