An almost sure thing every year in the NCAA tournament is that the team most criticized for making the field will win their first game. Plus, Utah is a ridiculous 5 seed.

Arizona has the advantage from an athletic standpoint but Utah is a solid, veteran team that can shoot and play high IQ basketball. Aj's point is sometimes true but often times it is not (see Arizona's meltdown against WVU in the Tournament last year when the Mountaineers made about 200 3's).

Haven't seen much of Utah this year but if they have a physical defender that can push Chase around he'll be done in the first five minutes and Utah will win.

This game is being played tomorrow the 20th, not today.

Oh baby.. Cats looking good..

They should win this game. They were favored to win this game. So it won't really even be an upset (12 over a 5 aside...)

Las Vegas oddsmakers already have installed the Wildcats as one-point favorites, apparently anticipating the betting public will favor Arizona despite the fact that Utah is seeded seven spots higher (and despite the fact that power ratings would indicate that the Utes should be two-point favorites).

They did what they needed to do, take out Nevill early. He looked clueless and weak all game long.

Loved the game plan to attack the big Aussie. Budinger played a very good game. Keep it going. Brutal game next for you guys.

Great win. Wise was huge, especially in the second half when he made those big baskets after Utah cut the lead a couple of times.

I wonder what Vitale, Seth Davis and even President Obama think now? Pac-10 went 5-1.

Looks like the Cats will be playing Cleveland State, who is up 15 with four minutes to go.

Congrats to the :cats:!
Next up is Cleveland State. It will be interesting to see who will be favored in that game. ;)

Not surprising to me. On the ASU board I said you guys would win this game by 10+. I thought you had gotten a nice draw with Utah and then Wake who was beatable. I think the cleveland st. game will be a doozy. But, the Sweet 16 is not a long shot for the Cats. In fact, they are more likely to make it than ASU or UCLA. Who'd a thunk that?

Great showing by the Pac 10. Only Cal lost, but that wasn't very shameful seeing it was a Maryland team that would've kicked the crap out of Utah too. USC and UofA winning more than makes up for the Cal loss.

Dick Vitale. He said UofA did not belong in the tourney, but in the same breath said because of where they were placed they would likely be in the Sweet Sixteen rather easily.
