Vaughn Grissom and Nathan Hickey combined for five RBIs Tuesday night as they led the Worcester Red Sox to a 7-2 win over the Rochester Red Wings on the road.

Worcester fell behind early on a solo home run by Trey Lipscomb in the second inning. The score remained 1-0 Red Wings until the fourth inning when Worcester’s offense took off.

Abraham Toro opened up the inning with a triple, coming around to score on a single from Trayce Thompson to tie the game up at 1-1. One out later, Nate Eaton was hit by a pitch, putting runners on first and second.

Hickey then picked up his third double of the year, driving the ball to right to make it a 3-1 game. Grissom followed with the first of his two doubles later in the inning to bring in Hickey.

Grissom brought in the next two runs as well, grounding into a force out in the sixth and doubling in Roman Anthony in the eighth. Marcelo Mayer then rounded out the scoring by bringing in Grissom on a pop up to left.

Grissom finished the day 4-for-6 with three RBIs, while Hickey was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Anthony went 2-for-3 with a run scored and three walks in the win.

Shane Drohan picked up the win on the mound, giving up one earned run on one hit and two walks with seven strikeouts over five innings of work.

The WooSox will have Wednesday off due to the cold. The game will be made up as part of a double header Thursday with the first game starting at 3:35 p.m.
