It's nothing external or input connections; it's with the internal connections to the display itself. Whether that's some dust or something else is the mystery. Mine mysteriously disappeared and haven't been back.

Maybe you just have a magic house. Let's trade tvs and see what happens. :mrgreen:

Honestly, this sounds like something to do with the power board in the TV. I didn't have a Samsung but I had another TV that gradually went. I opened it (not a smart thing to do unless you know what to touch) and checked wires and cables for anything obvious. I found out that a ribbon connector became lose over time. When I tapped it the lines went away. I tried securing it with a zip tie but that eventually failed too. What the repair shop told me was that the circuit boards constantly flex (from heat) over years of use and sometimes cables, wires or connectors get damaged over time. I had it repaired but then something else went and it went to the great family room in the sky.

Hmm, there is something like looks like a ribbon connector that was originally taped in place but has become loose. Seems like that would be a crazy way for a tv to die, but I'll look into it.
