Primo!
I feel as though I was actually there (well...everything but the dry heat).
I want to augment what Brighteyes said about players committing to the team concept.
I come from this little backwoods part of the country called New Jersey. We have this little...er...hockey team called the Devils.
Other than maybe their goalie and their captain, none of their players come close to being called "superstars." Few if any will win any personal awards.
But they were superb playing within a system. No me-guys. No huge egos.
All that a bunch of lunchpail unknowns with names like Madden, Pandolfo, Daneyko, Marshall, Friesen, Langenbrunner and Rupp did - was go out and get themselves a Stanley Cup.
(And it's not the first time the Devils have followed the same pattern over the past decade). Know what I'm sayin'?
