:newcards:

Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt decided to mix things up after Thursday afternoon's OTA's by having the offensive linemen go against the defensive linemen in a punt catching contest.

The players responded and loved the friendly competition.

I'm sorry, but this team just looks great together. At NAU last year, even though there was some horsing around I never saw anything like that kind of camaraderie developing. Look at Leinart jumping around like they won the Super Bowl. Anquan laughing his ass off. Everyone cheering and yelling and having a blast. They are having FUN together, not just playing together.

Great idea from the coaches...

edit: haha, I had paused it to write this post then I come back to the video and play and hear "it's great building this camaraderie together, you are laughing and joking together..." I hadn't heard that yet, but it is exactly what I was seeing.

I like all the Cards videos you post, Jim, but for some reason I just really like this one. The players seem so loose and just having a good time. The way they jump around a player that caught the ball just screams "team".

I can't wait to read your comments. :D

Is it weird that I love the C and D-list Cardinals (Wells, Francisco, Antonio Smith) and want to meeet them at camp more than the A-listers (Leinart, Fitz, Q)?

Great video! Thanks Jim!

I don't think I've ever seen a Cardinals team with that much chemistry...awesome!

I know we all try to look for posotives. But guys cant help but build a comrodery together when you spend as much time together as these guys do. Especially through training camp eating, sleeping, and training together 24-7 for weeks at a time.

While having competitions like this may lighten things up and may be fun for the team. I dont think there is any correlation to being a closer knit team then they would become anyway.

Anyone that has played sports knows that you become a team and close to your teamates through a normal progression. IMO the bond doesnt become any stronger than normal just because you do things such as this during training.

Now I do believe that bond can become even stronger when you do things like Edgerrin James does where you get together with your teamates outside of the game of football. You learn more about each other and do become closer and more bonded to your teamates/buddies.

Whoa!, if you think we have a thoroughbred speed team, or Haw!, if you think this team is made up of strong mules. I see neither yet. Too much spiked kool-aid being imbibed here. Shane gets it.

Whisenhunt has never been a head coach and he worked for a boss, Cowher, who didn't nurture a single other good head in 18 years at Pitt.

Show me first. We are now a run first team without a speed runner. James is a plodder. Shipp can't take a lot of punishment and usually breaks down. JJ is soft.

Show me first. We are now a 3-4 team without proven 3-4 personnel.

Show me first. Leinart is in second system in two years and has shown some fragility.

Smells to me like a 6-10 rebuild year. Granted, I am tentatively optimistic too. Just not ready to identify the critter we have to ride this year.

You went to training camp last year Shane. Did you see anything resembling this level of group cohesion and camaraderie there? Bear in mind, that is at training camp, not a minicamp in May.

I was there, and I saw nothing like this. It doesn't mean we are going 10-6 by any stretch, but it DOES mean that our team is gelling and I don't thing they were gelling or even near the same page under Denny.

Dang, Skkorp.

Do you not hand out candy to kids on Halloween? Are you the Grinch that stole Christmas?

I agree we are a 6-10 team with a new coach, but give us the offseason for hope! The offseason is the best time for the Cardinals fans and that video was fun to watch.

Pour me a glass of :koolaid:

Anyone Notice...

Is it me or does Reggie Wells look like he has bulked up? He looks pretty big, bigger than before.

My eyes tell me that the change in attitude is tangible. Ken Whisenhunt has the players rearin' to play for him. They seem to have adopted his mentality as well. Yes! We are drinking the sugary stuff. Yet the sugary stuff was passed to us by the veterans on this team.
