HeavyB3 probably posted one of the best threads in this forum in quite some time.... lord.. for some reason it just brought back several memories that I havent thought of in quite some time...

Anyone remember Blades of Steel?

I know now that the graphics look ancient.. but by 1988 standards (when I was in the 6th grade).. it was revolutionary.....

I remember when I first purchased the game, it seemed like I was the only one in school who owned it... so... several of my friends would want to borrow... they would either exchange a game I didnt have to in order to have my cartridge..or I would just loan it out... in fact.... I even had a waiting list.. it was quite hysterical...

I remember this one time at a friend's B-day party.. there were about 8-10 of us taking turns playing against each other..... Well... there was one intense game that a friend and I played..and everyone was watching... it went into OT, but unfortunately I lost 6-5.. but lord.. it no one wanted to leave their seats throughout it.......

I still think its probably the best hockey video game ever......

This game with Double Dribble were awesome at the time, but if you go back and play them it's almost unplayable

Oh yeah, I tried playing the old Double Dribble and the old Lakers v. Celtics basketball games, and man, they were pretty tough to sit with for more than 3 minutes. I think when it comes to old sports games, you have to play the ones with gimmicks, like Mutant League Football or NBA Jam, in order to have any enjoyment.

Blades. Of. Steel.

Great game...man, I had so much fun with that one. I have an NES still set up in my den.

Tecmo Bowl, however, is one of the few games that hold up and are still enjoyable.

I remember pounding the reset button 10x, just to hear it say "Blades of Steel".

Damn I was easily amused before the internets.

I have always been in the minority in this, but I really liked Nintendo's version, NES Hockey better.

No, I would say the majority prefered Ice Hockey. BoS was just different.
