There are so many "tycoon" games out there (and most of them bad), it's always great to find a diamond-in-the-rough--a worthy successor to SimCity.

Enter Roller Coaster Tycoon. I put the original in, but the later versions definitely improve on the game.

This game is a lot of fun, although it takes some time to learn the physics in designing roller coasters, which can be quite complicated. There are a ton of different rides to use, and if you are ingenious enough, you can create some of the more popular amusement parks. (I once saw a downloadable save game that roughly reproduced Disneyland)

All and all, if you like tycoon and strategy games, you can go wrong with this series.

I never really got into the tycoon games, but I enjoy strategy games. Maybe someday I will give these games another try.

I really enjoyed Roller Coaster 1 and 2. But 3 was a major dissapointment to me.

My whole family really got into RCT 1 and 2 along with the Sims. These games were about all we played for a year.

Looks pretty neat though.

I could never get into the original Sims game, it just got so boring to me--and as for SimCity, it was cool for a little while, but then it got tedious when you had to start building sewer systems and enhanced electrical systems.

I used to always build the track a little short and launch the unsuspecting passengers across the park.
