I'm really excited getting Rhodes. He wil have WAY less distractions here than what he had in NY. I really feel we upgraded the FS position and paid less for it.

The other part that really intrigues me is that he can play SS at any given time if we put A-Dub in the box. Our secondary (with another CB this year) could be STACKED.

Hells yeah... and they can both rush the QB so Davis can have them both walk up before the play w/o setting and have another drop back to SS without knowin which of them to account for...

Exactly. This is the worst nightmare for the opposing O-Line/QB rush wise.

not to mention our pass rush could be better with joey porter, that will only help the secondary! plus another year of development for CC who says he is 100% healthy. I'm ready for the season!!!!

The only thing that would make us any better at the rush is a pure 3-4 NT. If we can snag Mt. Cody in the draft (along with getting Porter and Foote), I will be more ecstatic about the defense than I probably ever was about our offense. To me, defense wins championships. And a defense like what that would look like is friggin nightmare for any team we face.

those highlights looks sick! Man covg, swatting the ball, tackling a ball carrier behind the line, picking up a fumble, running it in for a TD, rushing the QB, playing the deep middle and picking off a pass at the goalline robbing a team their scoring opportunity... those are everything you look for in a safety. Now let's just hope he can do it consistently and we'll be all set.
