A league-wide conspiracy is why Vikings have no QB

The blogger at Vikingage.com has uncovered the mystery of the Minnesota Vikings lack of production at the quarterback position. It isn't a lack of talent. It isn't poor coaching or ill-advised schemes. It's a conspiracy ... a league-wide one at that.

On the site this week it is writteh:

"Nobody wants the Vikings to have a good quarterback. They know we're just a competent signal-caller away from being a Super Bowl team and they'd rather have us suffer with Tarvaris Jackson than smoke all their asses and claim the Lombardi Trophy.

In fact, there appears to be a flat-out league-wide conspiracy to keep the Vikes from getting their hands on a decent QB. We all know the Packers were dead-set against letting Brett Favre come here — hence the trade to the Jets, and the proviso that New York would have to give up 200 draft picks if Favre were then dealt to Minnesota.

And now there's a new culprit in this game of Viking offensive suppression, and his name is Jon Gruden. According to Profootballtalk.com, Gruden has offered disgruntled QB Jeff Garcia to a couple of teams in a trade, but not the Vikings — presumably because, if Garcia got on the Vikings, he would instantaneously pick up Brad Childress's intricate and ingenious offense and lead us on a 14-game winning streak and thence onto glory. And that would make Gruden look bad especially if his anointed QB Brian Griese played like Brian Griese. Is this devious or what?

If the Vikings are only an NFL QB away from New England-type dominance, why do they keep trying to acquire Larry Fitzgerald? :D

Offer Tampa Bay 2 1st rounders for Garcia. They'll take it. The Vikings might have to pay more than market value.

I suppose the Vikes weren't allowed to draft a QB huh? What a crock. If great QB's were easy to find, every team would have one.

Hey Vikings! We got us 2or 3 good ones and you can't have any of them. HHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Vikings Bench QB Jackson, Turn to Frerotte

Looks like Tarvaris Jackson is out of the picture for now, and I wouldn;'t be shocked if Booty sees time before Jackson does again.

Vikings Bench QB Jackson, Turn to Frerotte

By JON KRAWCZYNSKI

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -The Minnesota Vikings are benching quarterback Tarvaris Jackson in favor of Gus Frerotte.

Coach Brad Childress said Wednesday that Frerotte will start Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Jackson started the first two games, both losses. He completed just 51 percent of his passes in those starts, prompting the coach to turn to the 37-year-old journeyman Frerotte.

"I'm just not seeing right now the aggressiveness from Tarvaris that I saw throughout the offseason, training camp, the two preseason games that he played in," Childress said. "And part of it may be experience. I know Gus will give us that. And I know his approach will also lend itself to that."

Frerotte was signed in the offseason to be Jackson's backup, but now finds himself trying to turn around a team that had high expectations. The passing offense has struggled mightily through the first two weeks, not only with Jackson's accuracy issues, but also with receivers dropping passes and conservative play calling.

After an 18-15 loss to the Colts last weekend in which the offense managed only five field goals, Childress said Jackson "is definitely our quarterback this week."

But that stance started to soften on Monday, when he said coaches were "chewing on a bunch of things right now and making sure that he's the best guy for us to go forward."

By Tuesday, the decision was made to give the job to Frerotte.

"I was very surprised," receiver Bobby Wade said. "I didn't anticipate that. Obviously it's the coach's decision and the administration's decision and we have to run with that."

Childress said that barring injury, Frerotte will be the quarterback for the rest of the season. However, Childress added he hasn't given up on the 25-year-old Jackson as an option for the team's long term.

"While I know he doesn't like it, I'd worry about him if he did like it," Childress said. "I know he'll make the most of it."

I actually wouldn't be at all surprised if NFC teams were reluctant to give the Vikings an adequate QB. I think Garcia could put the Vikings over the top.

No wonder Favre wanted to go to the Vikes. Wonder what VikesFan is thinking about now?

I love it. I'm not going to mess with avatar mojo at the moment, but that may be it eventually.

I'll give you a tough choice.

Here's another;

Frerotte, and the Vikings, are crap. Bears have four or five DB's out, and Frerrote is throwing pick after pick.
