It has been no secret since last year's NFL Draft that the Vikings would be behind the 8-ball in the 2025 NFL Draft when it comes to having draft capital. They used most of their capital in last year's draft and this year's draft to go all in on their top picks for 2024. Of course, they went up to get their guys in quarterback J.J. McCarthy and Dallas Turner, both moves that fans seem to be very happy about.

As we sit here just over 24 hours away from the NFL Draft, though, the Vikings and the fanbase would like to have more than just four picks to have in their pocket.

We have been talking about and projecting a trade back for weeks now, being this close it is easier than ever to be able to project one. With that being said, we have three ideas for the Vikings to follow as they look to get some extra picks in return.

Cleveland Browns

Trade: Vikings send the 24th overall pick to the Browns for the 33rd and 94th overall picks in the 2025 NFL Draft and a 3rd-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Player that has to be there for them to trade up: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

The Browns have Joe Flacco, but they want a long-term answer at the quarterback position. If they think Shedeur Sanders is the answer and he is available, the Vikings could be their partner. The Vikings would get a decent return by moving out of the first round, so they would have extra ammo in round two and beyond, while also stockpiling for 2026 to gain added flexibility. Not to mention, the 33rd overall pick is considered one of the most valuable picks in the draft as you kick off the most important day of the draft.

Trade: Vikings send the 24th overall pick and a 6th-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Giants for the 34th, 65th, and 154th overall picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Player that has to be there for them to trade up:Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

If the Giants want to make a splash in the potential last year of Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen's tenure with the team, trading back into the first round does that. If Dart falls past the Steelers, then they may start calling teams like the Vikings to move up. The package here gives the Vikings three picks in the top 100, which returns them to where they would have been before trading up twice last year.

Trade: Vikings send the 24th overall pick to the Patriots for the 38th, 106th, and 154th overall picks in the 2025 NFL Draft and a 3rd-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Player that has to be there for them to trade up:Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

If Arizona's playmaking wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan falls in the first round, for whatever reason, someone may want to make a move for him. The Patriots desperately need a playmaker for their quarterback, Drake Maye. If they can pair him with Will Campbell and McMillan, they would be the biggest winners of round one. The issue here is moving out of round one to pick 38 is farther back than they may want, but it may help them get that extra third in 2026; perhaps they even get a second out of it.
